Liam’s back with the latest from the A-Z game. Last week saw him get his move to E for Espanyol but how’s he getting on?
So, not the greatest start at Espanyol, but hopefully we can pick up some form. The update starts with yet more managerial movement;

We pull a difficult team in the next round, but again one I feel we should be winning
AC Milan pick up the Vicenza manager, who was working wonders over there
Whilst Mr Ancelotti will be on the move AGAIN
Next up is Sevilla away, yet another tough game that I don’t personally believe we can win. We go 1 goal down, but do pull one back to draw
Carlo Ancelotti actually ends up at Lazio
Sitting 2 places above relegation does not feel nice. I feel like I really have to push forward in the cup competitions and hope for the best. If I don’t win this next match, I may have to look at a change of tactic. It is away from home to Vallecano, who sit in 20th position. We go 1-0 but end up 2-1 down at half time. It ends 4-1, and I may actually end up getting sacked.
Steve Bruce ends up at York, managing Henrik Larsson
Somehow the board are still Very pleased with me, and to keep up the good work! Maybe if I get relegated, I can just win the league next season….Happy days! However, UEFA Cup time and we are home to Munich 1860. The struggles to score continue, and we lose 1-0 at home.
Time for a tactic change. May have to test a few out just to see what I can do. I don’t want to lost in these cup competitions. Time for the Christmas Tree and a change of striker. Let’s see what happens.
It is our first leg away at Elche in the Copa de Rey, Surely we can win this game, please CM…
We scrape a win, and the stats make for a much better reading. Hopefully we can carry that kind of result into the league. Next game comes thick and fast, as we have a home match against Salamanca. Again, another one we should be winning
Again, it isn’t to be, and I am dropping Betterton. It is another game where he has had 1 shot on target to save and he doesn’t. Maybe a change of goalkeeper can help. This doesn’t look good
Next up, another winnable game. Betterton takes to the bench as does my Bolivian CB, to see if we can finally keep a clean sheet. The answer? Nope. Can we score? Nope.
Actually starting to feel frustrated at the game for the first time. I am not sure what else I can do! Another change to the formation as I just can’t find any that suit this team. 2nd leg with Munich up next, and I need this result!
Ok, we go through on away goals, but a win is a win! Again, unconvincingly but we go through. I still need to work on a tactic evidently. Our next challenge comes from Italy
Another try at a new tactic, because why not!
It is our chance at another cup competition, the second leg at home to Elche. A good opportunity to try out this new tactic after the win in the first leg.
The stats make for good reading as we leave after winning 2-0. Defensively, a lot better. Quarter final, brings us another challenge
Hopefully we can carry this form back into the league. We are really struggling in the league but thriving in the cup competitions. Up next is Racing Santander, who sit in 14th, 3 places above us.
Another good result and a game that we dominated, maybe this new tactic is the one I have been looking for. It is a shame to see that Nathan Lee can’t get on the scoresheet at all, so it may be time to try somebody else in that position. Need to carry this on to the next game, another winnable game against Leganes
Another win, and the momentum is building. Up to 13th and November is a lot better than October! Bad news, my only left back is out for 7 months. Should have accepted the Roma offer when I had the chance!! First game away to Bologna now, and with the way we are playing, I could win a cup competition!
Ok, erm, I’ve uncovered a monster tactic. The stats were pretty even though, so could just be a one off. Taking the form at home to Atletico Madrid, we have had a LOT of matches in November! This is by far the toughest of the lot so far.
Tough game, and we come out with a 2-1 loss. It could have been better, but also a lot worse! No time to waste though, as up comes Celta Vigo. We will be visiting Balaidos with the hopes of regaining our cup form. It isn’t great, but not bad either.
Second leg of Bologna upcoming, and unless we screw up massively, we should be through with ease.
Again, unconvincing. Something needs to change! This doesn’t help at all…
Really not sure of our chances on silverware, especially with our recent performances. How can we go from beating Bologna 5-1 to losing 2-0 at home, with a crap performance to boot! 2nd place Bilbao. Damage limitations? Probably
Ok, what? I don’t understand this game sometimes! I mean, I’ll take it…But why are we beating good teams, and losing to shit! The transfer window is now open, and that brings us to the end of this strange update! Adios
