There and Back Again – A Tale of Bilbo ‘Wayne’ Biggins – Part 5: Biggins has SerieA’l for Breakfast at Juve | @KingOfTheRooks

Hello there! Welcome back to the next challenge in our Wayne Biggins fix. After great success in lesser leagues, Wayne has decided it’s time to go big or go home.

The squad is already very good. A good supporting cast. But as ever we’ll spend some money. Looks like we will need to.

It’s a poor debut for Biggio.

Let’s hope things improve. The Coppa Italia proves more fruitful for the Big W.

A tough draw at Lazio awaits. Wayne can’t find the net as we beat Inter, but at Roma he gets his league tally off the mark.

It’s followed by a goal against Lazio and a Champions League goalzoooo too.

Wayne loves his spaghetti, and gets a double serving against the Bolognessi.

His strike partner, some bloke…Del something or other keeps stealing the limelight. Another goal comes in a poor loss 4 games later.

That said, the overall games to goals record is great for a 35 year old washed up Brit in Serie A.

And the partnership is building steam as we make hay in the Coppa Italia.

More Champions League goals at Monaco and in Serie A. Waynio Biggio is loving life at the old lady.

After 15 games, its tight, but a title is on track for the main man.

The Champions League QF is very kind.

We beat Milan in the Coppa Italia QF, and then Biggins rescues a point at Inter.

He scores his fastest goal of the series so far. Although he is being upstaged by this Del Pie-ro kid.

That’s better.

Much better.

A tough final awaits in the Coppa Italia after beating Serie B competition in the Semi.

Zidane gets sent off against Leverkusen in the first leg of the CL QF. Which means if we get through, he’ll miss a semi-final leg. Biggins goes on a drought then saves our CL bacon.

Rampulla in the semis against Barca sounds like horse cack. The old man still has a temper on him.

Balls. 3 shots, 3 goals. Vitor Baia having a blinder too.

And he’ll miss the return leg.

At least he makes an impact on one final.

Serie A is secured, but the CL is out of reach.

We scrape the Coppa Italia on pens.

As ever in these things, Biggins closes the season with a drought and a poor showing. He must get worse after the mid-season update.

And with that, it is over. Two titles in the bag.

How has old Biggio done?

Not top, but good company.

So there you have it, old Wayne can cut it in Serie A. I think he’s earned a trip to…
