Welcome back! If you missed part one, you’re going to find this very odd. Long story short, I set about creating an all British team to dominate the Portugese league. I chose Benfica as the “beneficiaries” in this scenario because Graeme Souness had already laid the foundations, with Brian Deane and Scott Minto sitting waiting for me like particularly poor housewarming gifts. Brits Abroad – Part 1: Let me Explain

Hello all. I hope you’re all enjoying the summer. Back in 2016, I wrote a series for The Higher Tempo Press called Brits Abroad. HTP was founded by Chris Darwen, who has gone on to many different things and as far as I know, HTP no longer runs. I forget why. Anyway, I imagine one day that site will cease to exist and therefore I want to bring my work to the safe walls of my own house. So, if you read this in 2016, thank you first and foremost but I’d appreciate if you pretend you didn’t. Also, in 2016 I was obsessed with playing 5-3-2 for some reason so needless to say I don’t need to be told to play direct and a different formation. I still have the save, somewhere, so if you enjoy it I will resurrect it and play better formations. Enjoy…

Brits Abroad is not a late night TV show showing various upstanding members of the British public making love to a shopping trolley in Kavos, but rather I’m going to make a team entirely of players from Britain and hopefully win the Champions League and dominate world football.
