It’s hump day and the Wonderkids are here to try and continue their good form into a new season. Over to Andrew…

So here we are, season eight. Our 5^th Premier League year. Our rivals will be hoping it is 5^th time unlucky. Our ageing Wonderkids (can we even call them kids anymore?!?) are approaching 30, as are the players on our shortlist, bar a few exceptions. We’ve chopped up the deadwood with Billy Mac, Balling and Alex Martin banished to the B kids. If you missed it, you can catch up with last season here.

Hopefully we can make it back there next time out. We’re actually doing well in the league for once, which is worrying given how things have usually worked out.

We’re still in with a shot at all competitions, that said we’ve almost lost as many games as last season already, we’ve drawn an awful lot and we’re hanging on to the form of the minority of the squad with a good chunk out on loan or unhappy. Hello and welcome back to The Wonderkids where we are making our way through season six. You can catch up with last week here. We’ve set a high bar last season and the board are holding us to it. We’ve got two trophies in the bag, and we’re still in with a shot at all other trophies so far. The squad is a mixed bag however and we’re now without our two main attacking support players. Here’s where we left off last time out:

We’ve made what we think is a fairly positive start to our third season in the topflight, but the board disagree. We’ve made one addition to the squad and appear largely to have improved. Hello again and welcome to season six of The Wonderkids! What is remarkable is that we are still going, largely with the same squad (plus a few adjustments along the way) and achieving some relative success, dragging ourselves to an improbable title defence last season. All that alludes us now is the World Club Cup, the European Super Cup, The Cup Winners Cup (if we can finish low enough), the UEFA Cup (again, assuming we can finish low enough) and the Division One title which Wolves snatched from our grasp a few seasons ago.
