4.5 A-Z of Football – B?

There is a small reason this is currently 4.5. I decided to up sticks and leave Arsenal, in the hope that the game would progress a little faster and I can pick up a B job a lot quicker. There are a lot of “B” clubs in the game that look like good prospects…Little did I know how long this would take. As you can see below, I believe I have left the squad in good stead;

Following that, I am met with a LOT of job offers. Which I can understand, being 15th in the world. However, no B clubs until yet! Here is the list;

So almost a whole season passed, but my offer comes in February…Who will that be? Wait and see…

Whatever happened to: Ariel Arnaldo Ortega

Another player dubbed as the next Maradona, as most players with any skill were, Ortega actually looked like he would be that player. However, his career blighted by issues never took off. After joining Valencia from River Plate, he stayed for 1 and a half seasons before he moved to Sampdora for £8mil as a replacement for Juan Veron. However, after Sampdoria were relegated, he moved to Parma and rejoined his former club teammate Hernan Crespo. This didn’t last long, as he returned to River Plate, wo acquired 50% of his registration rights.

In 2002, he moved to Fenerbahce who also purchased his image rights signing a 4 year contact. He started his career fantastically and looked like a real coup for the club. However, this wasn’t to be, as he failed to return from International Duty for 3 months. He was fined $11mil and suspended for the rest of 2003. He served a 4 month suspension and was left without a club.

The rest of his career saw him bounce around Argentina with Newell’s Old Boys, River Plate, Independiente, All Boys and Belgrano, before ending his career at Union San Felipe in 2012. A player with immense potential, blighted by issues off the field. You could say, he was indeed the next Diego Maradona.
