Welcome back to a blog so dry Zak’s hamster has gone bald from boredom. What have we been feeding you? If you momentarily forgot why you existed, you can catch up here.
We left last week with Rob still top despite a few bumps and the loss of key players.
We’re finally at that stage of the season where at least 4 participants can’t muster the energy to care anymore. Some remain AWOL. You wanted entertainment, well you got.
What a result for Nathan. Nobody saw that coming. Stand in Sean Francis having a nightmare for Deano. It’s just not the day for Birmingham. Jansen is at it again.
In a thinly Vale’d dig at his manager, Monington puts through his own net in the hope of being substituted.
Elsewhere, Rob’s rejects, I mean backups, win.
We bounce back against Ken Barlow and the 685 fans who tuned in to see him up to no good.
It’s relentless for Ross as the catch-up games come thick and fast. With Rob back to almost full strength, it’s an easy win. It’s enough to make any hamster go bald.
Deano’s boys scrape a draw at home to Zak’s ‘keeperless machine. Aspin gets his usual 10 to keep him top of the ratings tables.
Paul comes on at 60 minutes to shouts of “there’s only one Kerr, there’s only one Kerr! He plays for Port Vale, there’s only one Kerr!”.
What have we here? Our form is improving as Widderington returns. We have our Caig and eat it.
A reprieve for Ross’ 900 backers as they take the spoils in a highly entertaining affair.
Did we mention the cups? Well, as ever there is cup action almost every week.
And there’ll be more thanks to Rob’s steely efforts. Not for Philip though.
But more for Nick. Another replay is in the winds.
Big incentive for Rob’s boys to get through.
The joy goes on and on for Philip. Not that he cares.
What a goal scoring run for Nogan too.
Zak’s ‘keeperless machine marches on. Who said crime never pays? Well, if you consider cheating a crime.
Nick’s great run of form comes to an end thanks to numerous injuries. They couldn’t overcome Deano’s boys even after they played with one centre back for half a game.
We close this week as ever, with a thriller.
The table is as thus.
Rob opens up a 17-point lead at the top but its wide open for the runners-up spot. Port Vale start to close the gap to 6th place. It may only be a few more games before he is crowned the winner of the greatest competition of all time. Do come back and find out.
