Replicating Sir Alex, Bolton Style – Episode Four | @KibworthBull

Recap…

We are trying to replicate what Sir Alex Ferguson did at Man United, we are at Bolton and sit 20th in the Premier League at the end of October. We’ve been in the role for just under a year and it’s fair to say it’s been a struggle.

We are in desperate need of a striker or two, and have a shade over £5m to make that happen.

Let’s see who turns us down this week..

Jamie Pollock is too casual on the ball.. Steve Flack makes full use of the opportunity. We squander chances and fall to a defeat.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ian Wright and Ivan Zamarano are all offered the chance to come to Bolton. They all decide that not playing games is better than what we can offer. Financially they may be right.

Another game, another defeat. The gap to survival is becoming bigger than… Mr Kibworth Bull’s legal team have advised that he doesn’t finish this sentance.

Teddy Sheringham turns us down just as we get to his current home. When you sit 20th, you don’t want to go to Old Trafford. I could have played any formation and it wouldn’t have made a difference.

The board tell me that they expect a higher league position. I just sit their suitably ashen faced.

The dream was on for 30 odd minutes. Cameron Burke with his 5th of the season. We don’t get going in the 2nd half.

Cameron Burke hits the target again, sadly it was Mark Bosnich’s face this time and he goes for the cliched early bath, Michael Johansen whose been on the transfer list most of the year gets the winner and sticks two fingers up at me as he celebrates. I don’t mind. He’s probably right.

My comprehension of this game is severely tested. Johansen again and a DOUBLE from Saileti. No idea.

Too many chances squandered… Sheffield United get a late corner. The perfect time to score.

Chelsea are struggling in the lower reaches. If we were mid-table then this would been seen as a great result. We’re not, so it’s a missed chance to nick something.

Holy hell on toast. A Striker. 1 goal in 9 senior matches in his career. But the potential. No pressure Nic but you’ve got an 8 point swing to make up in 17 matches.

New Boy Nic has 3 chances to score against Leeds. Doesn’t take any. Leeds never let us anywhere near the tie. Won’t be winning a cup this year.

Le Sulk is getting chances but not taking them

Nic scored!! He actually scored… But the linesman’s pesky flag was up.

The vultures must be circling as we slide to yet another defeat. This time it’s Derby and we dominated until they scored and then whimpered.

10 points from safety with 14 left to play. The board are very pleased and want me to keep up the good work. Really??

Join me next time for the conclusion to the 2nd season of this rapidly imploding Sir Alex Ferguson challenge.
