Hello and welcome back to the 30 for 30 challenge. Last season we moved back up North to Glasgow Rangers. After a brief flirt with the bottom of the table we finally found a formation & the players to fit that formation, to march up to 2nd place. We were absolutely no where near Celtic though. Can we close the gap this season?

August

I don’t normally mention transfers because I’m that far in I have no idea who is who anymore. However I have signed Justo Castro who is the Chilavert regen as back up and Docabo-Donini who was my striker at Arsenal and won the golden boot twice. Picking him up on a free is fantastic business!

Domestically it’s a perfect start with 3 wins in the league and a win in the League Cup. Celtic have been knocked out and are struggling in the league in these early stages. The Champions League is a disaster! OB batter us in the 1st leg and we can’t recover so we fall into the UEFA Cup.

September

A mammoth 8 games in September. We win 7 of them which include progress in the UEFA Cup where we will meet Juventus and a superb win over Old Firm rivals Celtic. We have a 100% record in the league. We crash out of the league cup though thanks to conceding an 89th minute equaliser and going on to lose on penalties!

October

We lose our first league game of the season. Arbroath’s goalkeeper was unbelievable! We do get a fantastic win away at Juventus in the UEFA Cup.

November

5 games and 5 wins. We are light years ahead of where we where last season! We breeze past Juventus in the UEFA Cup and beat PSV in the 4th round 1st leg. We currently have a 9 point lead over Celtic.

December

Terrible month for us! PSV batter us in Holland to knock us out of Europe. We are still licking our wounds when Celtic beat us in the Old Firm Debry. January needs to be much better. No Europe should help.

January

We have 6 games in January and we win 5 of them scoring 4 goals in each game! The strikers are on fire at the moment!

February

It’s another 100% month for us. We progress to the Scottish Cup Quarter Finals where we will look for revenge against Partick Thistle for knocking us out of the League Cup. We also beat Celtic again to extend our lead to 14 points in the league.

March

This is why we came to Rangers. It took us 6 months to get the team in shape but it’s paid off with our 2nd top division title. We’ve blown everyone away domestically this year.

Another 100% record in the league. Partick Thistle annoyingly force a replay but we batter them in the replay. FA Cup Semi Final awaits!

April

We finish the league season strongly. The only blot is the loss to Celtic. We’ve won two games a piece this season. The decider is for the FA Cup. As a side note Celtic are in the Champions League final as well.

May

It’s the double for us!!! Young Justin Priest steps in for the injured Docabo-Donini and seals the win in the 5th minute!

It’s been the best season so far. I’m looking forward to trying to retain the title next season and hopefully a better showing in Europe. Join me next time.
