Hello and welcome back to Doncaster. Last season was a real surprise as, not only did we survive our first season in the Premier League, we only just missed out on a top half finish. Whilst the goals didn’t flow as well as I’d have liked it was our leaky defence that proved our undoing. Can we make a push for the top half or was it a one off? Let’s get stuck in
Hello and welcome back to Doncaster for season 7. Last season was absolutely unreal. We had a horrible start to the season. We tweaked our formation and brought in a couple of new players and managed to sneak into the playoffs. We lost our top striker but his replacement, 16 year old Dion Rust, took us past Norwich at Wembley and in to the Premier League! Our squad is no where near strong enough but can we survive our first season with the big boys? Let’s find out.
Hello All and welcome back to Doncaster for Season 6. After a rapid rise through Division 3 and Division 2 (as Champions no less!) we have found life in Division 1 very tough. 2 seasons of relegation battles so far. Can we turn it around this season? I’d snap your hand off for a top half finish at this point!
Hello and welcome back to Doncaster. We are entering season 5 after 4 impressive seasons so far. We spent 2 seasons in Division 3, Won Division 2 at the first time of asking and managed a top half finish in Division 1. We really struggled in Division 1 last season so first stop is new recruits.
Hello and welcome back to Doncaster for Season 4 of this blog. Season 1 we slipped out of automatic promotion into the Playoffs in Division 3 and promptly lost to Hull. Season 2 we managed to cling on to the automatic spots to rise to Division 2. Season 3 was our best yet as we won the Division 2 title at the first time of asking. All of this despite our team being repeatedly torn apart by the dreaded big club release clause. We have a £26 million war chest and no one wants to sign for us.
Hello and welcome back to Doncaster. In the last episode we managed to sneak an automatic promotion spot to Division 2 with a game to spare. Once again the big club release clause looked to be our undoing but luckily the clubs trying to raid us couldn’t stump up the cash. This season we get a crack at Division 2. Let’s dive in.
Hello and welcome back to Doncaster. Last season was a gut punch we didn’t recover from. We lost Totti after 4 games. Went on an incredible run of form until March where we had our defence and top scorer ripped away due to the big club release clause. We never recovered and slipped from 2nd to the playoffs and lost to Hull in the Semi Final. Over the summer we have rebuilt the defence and signed new boys up front.
Hello All. It’s been a while since I did a blog but I’ve been given a challenge and a half by Santa. Let me explain.
The Blog Squad got together over Christmas to do a secret Santa. We were to buy a football shirt for each other and whatever shirt we received would be the team of our next blog. The Legend Deano pulled my name and he got me a stunning Doncaster Rovers shirt. The challenge is to win the Premier League with them. Doncaster are woeful on 97/98. In real life they had one of the worst seasons in Football League history, ending up in the Conference. We have a trump card though. With the shirt I received I also got an icon card, Francesco Totti. So for this blog Totti will start at Doncaster. Also as a nod to Deano I will sign 1 Welshman every season. Here’s a look at the current squad.
Hello and welcome back to 30 for 30. We are into season 29 which i sincerely hope is the last one! We’ve been to Morton, Coventry, Motherwell, Palace, Man Utd back to Palace, Arsenal and Rangers. It took us 20 seasons to win a top trophy but then we won the lot in Glasgow. So let’s do this one final time and get to that coveted last screen on CM 97/98.
Hello and welcome back to 30 for 30. We are nearly there with this challenge which has been epic and draining all in one. Last season was a real come down. We went from all conquering to losing it all. This season is about redemption.
