A silly mistake.

In a bad mood before I even start.

Before we enter the ship (yes I said Ship) show of the league, let’s have an FA Cup tie against Bury to Shake things up…

It was not a classic.

Never injure Andy Cole, his replacement scored within seconds.

It feels like a bug that we are 1 point clear of the relegation zone with 14 games left, after 3 successive top 10 finishes and the board are delighted with me. We also have done barely anything in the cups. But at least we haven’t been knocked out by a lower graded side.

The Ginger Paul Scholes – so maybe that should be just Paul Scholes, scores a double and Bury are buried.

Burnley are bottom of the table. It’s grim in Lancashire right now. Neither side does enough to get people smiling on the way home.

Fun Fact. Eric Nevland has turned us down more times than he has scored against us in this episode. We can put a big fat X in the FA Cup for this year.

Sol Campbell gets injured but then we snatch a last gasp leveller. But what is the linesman getting involved in a conversation with the referee for? Oh dear…

Just the 3 goals ruled out in this one. We would have won 2-1 but a 0-0 draw helps neither of us as it was 17th v 16th

A typical Bolton performance, strong and confidence but we nearly found a way to completely throw it under the bus. Goal number 49 in the Paul Scholes Bolton journey.

Enrico Lemme hadn’t scored in his previous 79 games for the club. This one is massive. Newcastle are one of the few teams below us in the table. It’s a point that works better for us than them.

7 clear with 8 to play (for us). Realistically Burnley are cooked. Newcastle are hanging on by a thread, even Leicester are probably already programming their sats navs for the Championship grounds.

A game where a keeper get’s sent off and one team scores 5. It couldn’t go in our favour twice? Not a chance.

Nicky Spink will play no further part in the competition regardless of what happens in Middlesbrough.

After the chaos on the UEFA Cup, we dreaded hosting the league leaders, but we stunk the place out and made sure that no-one enjoyed the game

I think last time we went to Liverpool we were cruising at 2-0 and ended up not getting the win. So lightening strikes twice.

Leicester lose so it’s 3 games left and 5 points clear.

Somehow Leicester are not showing as relegated but 4 points in 1 game seems tricky.

It’s time to admit that the goose is cooked. So to answer the original question, can you replicate what Sir Alex did at Man United with Bolton? Maybe. If you are a good manager. But not if you’re crap.
