Hello and welcome back after a week off where I took in the delights of Edinburgh and a cheeky game of FIFA 94 at the Edinburgh Museum Game On exhibition, but lets fast forward to 1999 and we’re into the final stretch of my second season with our all African Leeds squad.
As you’ll recall, we can score a lot, but also concede many too. We’re here in the league, but 2nd place is almost possible, isn’t it?

It might be a little out of reach to be honest, but a draw with Liverpool is necessarily a bad result, and that MOTM award will give Peter Rufai a much needed confidence boost.
A 2-2 draw with Wolves is less impressive though. The Good and The Freed sounds like a 90’s album by The Verve. Frontman Richard gets his marching orders but we can’t take advantage. Bittersweet.
This result is even less enthralling. However a strike duo of Robert Baggio and Sean Devine could only happen in the wonderful world of CM9798, or one of Dave’s blog saves…
Our current form threatens to derail any sense of achievement we might have in our second season. We score two, we concede two. Knit one, purl one.
I gamble on another frontman. The Quicker has gone quiet on me. Tony Yeboah is getting on a bit and the Roger Milla regen isn’t much cop yet.
Does a mid-season signing affect moral? Possibly, but not sure we would have made much headway against United in any case, especially when your keeper has a heads gone moment.
I’m beginning to forget what a win looks like at this stage….
Ah, that’s what it looks like! The Quicker is back and Victor Agali gets his first two goals of his Leeds career.
This of course means we bottle it against Coventry – why always Coventry?
The Quicker may be back on form, but our defence has departed mentally and physically
Another day and another defeat. This is getting frustrating now and isn’t helped by the fact it’s a defeat dished out by a fellow African alumni.
A rare win at home to Blackburn. A little something to cheer about…
That’s only our second win of this part of the blog. That 4 point gap I mentioned at the start of today is now 18 points with one game left to play..
Our final game away to Everton is pretty symbolic of our season, and last season too…
A picture can paint a thousand words…..
9th, again. 92 goals scored but a whopping 77 conceded.
It pains me to say it, but I’m not sure we’re really getting anywhere with this challenge. I have 3 seasons left to win some silverware and achieve glory in Europe. Realistically, I need to get into Europe somehow next season to make this anyway achievable – on this evidence though, it doesn’t seem very likely…
The Quicker and Baka scoring the goals
A bit of close season business sees Wacouboue head for pastures new. It won’t be too much of a loss
The Quicker takes the top scorer gong, but it means nothing really. No silverware, no Europe next season.
Please join me next week for more African escapades!

Have you tried signing Japhet N’Doram, the sole player from Chad in the game? I’ve never signed the original, but his regen has always been really good.
