Hello and welcome back to Doncaster for Season 4 of this blog. Season 1 we slipped out of automatic promotion into the Playoffs in Division 3 and promptly lost to Hull. Season 2 we managed to cling on to the automatic spots to rise to Division 2. Season 3 was our best yet as we won the Division 2 title at the first time of asking. All of this despite our team being repeatedly torn apart by the dreaded big club release clause. We have a £26 million war chest and no one wants to sign for us.
In the summer we lose our DMC Corey Whitehead who was a major part of our clean sheets in the 2nd half of last season, he will be next to impossible to replace. Simon Lonergan only played 6 games before being taken off us. Proctor was our title winning hero, scoring the equaliser in our last game of the season to clinch the title. I’ve managed to sign Vierchowod’s and Ian Wright’s regens for this season so far.
August
We’ve made a decent start to life in Division 1. Beating Wolves 3-0 was a good result with Ian Wright Jr grabbing a couple of goals. Losing against Watford wasn’t great but they did beat us in Division 2 last season so not entirely unexpected. We have also brought in Dafydd Owen at right back from Arsenal as our Welshman for this season.
September
I think we may have peaked too soon. We get an absolute mauling in September. Only 1 win in the League sees us plummet to 1 place and 1 point above relegation. Our strikers are terrible!
October/November
Got carried away again and played 2 months. We are still struggling and still fighting to stay out the relegation places. Our team is one of the weakest but I can’t attract better players. Survival is the mission for this season.
December
December is a bit better. We manage 3 wins which lifts us away from relegation for now. Nottingham Forest are top of the league and flying so the draw against them made me very happy.
January

Well this is a turn up for the books. 4 games and 4 wins! Solid at the back and scoring freely again just like the good old days. The 2 FA Cup wins came against Premier League teams as well.
February
Everton are top of the league and most certainly going up so that loss doesn’t me too much. Villa in the cup was one Prem team too far for us. The win against Chelsea is fantastic though. They’ve been flying with Everton and the loss will hurt them.
March
5 games in March. 3 losses and 2 wins pretty much sums up our season so far. Looks like we will survive which was the main aim.
April/May
The season ends in the same chaotic style as it’s been all the way through. Good wins against Southampton & WBA are undone by poor games against Gillingham & Charlton.
I’m delighted to finish in the top half and only 4 points outside the playoffs. We need some strong recruitment in the summer to break into those playoff places though. Join me next week to see how the summer goes and if it leads to a playoff charge.
