Donny On Top – Part 5 | @FMCM_FC

Hello and welcome back to Doncaster. We are entering season 5 after 4 impressive seasons so far. We spent 2 seasons in Division 3, Won Division 2 at the first time of asking and managed a top half finish in Division 1. We really struggled in Division 1 last season so first stop is new recruits.

7 come in over the summer. Willy Gueret is a top quality French Goalie. Slaven Bilic is our first full international and should help with the leaky defence. Louis Russell is Dave Puttnam’s regen who has been with us through the Divisions with us. Luke Bywater Is Ruel Fox. Glenn Hart is Teddy Sheringham. Alan Easton is signed from York having had some good scoring stats for them last season. Will Chapple is our Welshman this season. His stats work for the AMC slot despite being a striker. With all that, Let’s dive in to Season 5.

August

It’s a positive start to the season. The 4-0 win over Wolves was particularly pleasing. The new signings are bedding in nicely. We conceded in the last 5 minutes against Chesterfield which was really frustrating.

September

9 games in September is a monster effort! That loss against Chelsea was very frustrating! We equalised in the 89th minute only for Zola to get a winner in the 90th minute! The Fulham game was bonkers from start to finish, either side could have ended up winning that. We currently sit inside the playoff spots which will do very nicely.

October

We get battered by Ipswich in the cup but start the month well in the league until Jung, our Centre Mid gets injured. His replacement turns out to be less than useless and we get 3 battering’s on the trot. A backup CM is definitely on the shopping list.

November

Absolute shocker this month. We were lucky to get a draw against WBA to be honest. We are playing very badly at the moment. Strikers have gone off the boil and we are too easy to score against.

December

It’s another bad month and we are now in a relegation dog fight. Having said that we are only 5 points away from the top half. I’ve transfer listed most of the team. The goals have once again dried up which is the main issue.

January

No wins in January and knocked out of the FA Cup by Southend who are in the Division below us. It’s a very grim winter indeed.

February

Big false dawn against Hartlepool. We absolute battered them as well. The loss to Carlisle was frustrating. We played well and had a goal disallowed then conceded in the 86th minute. We have finally found a reinforcement upfront.

Delighted to get this CM9798 legend in.

March

Only 1 win in March but to be honest i wasn’t expecting anything against Leicester, West Ham or Tottenham. Can we hang on to a place in Division 1?

April/May

Only 1 loss over April & May sees finish 16th in the league and survive for another season. These last 2 months of the season have easily been our best and it’s been enough to save us. Can we improve next season? Or does another relegation battle lie in wait. See you next week.
