A Royale Mess – A Blog Squad Tale | Part Nine: Re-Brannded | @KingOfTheRooks

Hallo, and welcome back! We’ve had the transfer window which was great fun and now its time for the managers to see if their choices have helped or hindered them.

As ever in Scotland, first up, it’s the cup! A battle between newly refurbished Ross and manager holiday Zak. It looks like its headed for extra time that nobody sitting screensharing post 9pm on a Tuesday wants, and thankfully (for Ross) new boy Karl-Oscar hammers in a winner.

Following on from the cup its…the cup again. This time semi-final. Ross vs. Dave. Bang average versus essentially worse than s***. That said, it proves to be an entertaining tie thanks to the fresh blood.

Geir Starmer scores the fourth of Dave’s goals to see him somehow make the final of a cup competition despite languishing down the bottom end of the league #rebrannd.

In the opposing semi, it’s the two hot favourites Rob and Nath. Rob’s side make a woeful start as new signing Inge Olsen puts through his own net only later to come off injured.

Ultimately its Nath vs. Dave in the final. Finally, we have some league action to consider. First up it is Phil (who didn’t manage to request any transfers) and Rob looking to recover from his cup loss.

Burning like a flame, Dokken secures the win for Rob’s boys.

A now delighted Dave is even more delighted to be facing winless Nick. Despite Nick’s Zambian hotshot adding to his silly goals to game ratio, Nick’s OB cannot defend and Brann take a Duus on them.

A usually resolute Malmo have to face Ross’ Brondby again, and get whooped. The Sandman has his day in the…sand.

Next up I’m facing off vs. the freefalling Deano. Despite having absolute bangers up top, Deano has dropped from top 3 and is heading for bottom 3.

The Wale makes his debut with a decent double.

Last up, it’s Nathan vs. Matt. And, it’s an absolute massacre. The less said, the better for Matt.

Vidi-printer summary:

Those results leave the league table still pretty tight from 1st to 6th but a growing gap for 9th and 10th.

It is worth adding, Nick’s board are ‘satisfied’ with his performance as manager. Take the wins.

We’ve more league action, however, Dave is left raging with his side who have failed to carry the momentum against a rudderless AaB.

It’s a massive improvement for Matt and his AIK as they gun down Ross for a draw.

My Kobenhaven boys head up against Zak’s Malmo. It’s another all-action performance and a repeat scoreline. New boy Piechnik tries to throw the game but we hang on in there.

Deano has the chance to pick up some much-needed points at bottom of the table Nick. And he does just that. Did you expect anything else?

Our final game sees quite the upset, despite Rob sitting top. Nath’s boys have been in fine form.

It’s a late push from Rosenborg, but too little too late to get anything from the game.

Vidi-printer reminder:

We finally reach 10 games and almost a quarter of the season done after coming up to 10 parts. These damn cups.

I’d say the top 6 are 100% still in it. Hell, we might even conjure up some evil for the January transfer window to spice things up. Who knows. See you next time!
