A Royale Mess – A Blog Squad Tale | Part Twelve: Merciless Gods | @KingOfTheRooks

Hello and welcome back. Our Scandinavian adventure continues, much to the displeasure of some members of the blogging team who are rooted to the bottom of the table. There were promising signs for Nick’s OB side last time, can it push him on further?

First up Deano takes on Phil and his AaB side. Deano has no idea who his players are or what his game plan was as it’s been 8 weeks since we last got together. It makes no odds as Phil is comfortably brushed aside. The Godfather of Icelandic football having no impact for Phil.

More red on blue action as Kellog’s City take on former European big wigs Malmo. Geir Starmer has a woeful time for Dave picking up a yellow whilst simultaneously being invisible. A draw a fair result.

In an absolute turn up for the books Nick goes against the form book and thrashes Ross’ Brondby. No small feat. Mwape Miti at it again.

My own Kobenhavn side take an absolute beating from Nathan’s Rosenborg. Despite a red for Nath to even things out we just can’t claw our way back.

Finally, Rob’s gods trounce Matt’s AIK. Stop, stop he’s already dead. Lagerlof by name, Lagerlof by nature. I think getting a 4 tells it all. In fact Gallo and Lager as your defence, might as well lay down.

And that is a wrap for this round of games.

The only surprise being Nick’s 3-0 against Ross, a pretty standard set of results. But honestly, how in the f*** does Zak’s team with no sensible range of players keep doing decent I don’t know.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, or as they say in the Scottish Division 3, why are we still here.

Round 2 for this post sees Matt continue his journey into the depths of how poor can his team get? The man with all the Geir but no idea turns up for once with a winning goal.

The below result tells me I should be worried about playing Nick again. The game of challenge Emeka went well but we might as well have been playing Diego Tur(d). And yes, the referee is a Coldplay fan.

It feels like Deano has turned a corner as he upsets the order of things with a magnificent 2-1 against Nathan’s Rosenborg. Johnny Ekstrom and absolute baller.

Next up it’s controversial. A derby match between the two managers who never turn up to manage their sides. Can we take all the credit for their good performances, yes, 100% yes. Sorry Zak and Phil.

Anyway, it turns out Zak’s team can continue their strong run against the odds in this league. The Scots will be devastated to see the end of the Thylander. And last but by no means least, its Rob playing to more cries of STOP STOP HE’S ALREADY DEAD.

Nick’s good form disappears as quickly as Mikeal Arteta’s title hopes or Man Utd’s designs on a good season. It is disgusting, we will have to come up with a rule for January transfers that makes the league more competitive.

Those results see Nick close the giant gap between the top 8 and the bottom 2.

Rob is not unbeatable, and he’s conceding 2 goals a game, but that attack is just absolute fire. The insane thing is that his horde of goals is so well spread he doesn’t trouble the top scorers list higher up.

Anyone looking to link these leagues to a game, this is a good list to see! We do have one more matter to attend to. Nathan has reached the final of the Coca-Cola Cup. However, he has CM9798 Rangers to contend with, never an easy task.

In the end it was too little too late as Gazza dominated with a MotM performance and Rangers triumph. Ross and Nick carrying some big injuries to some big players, thoughts on adjustments required ahead of the next round of fixtures.

And on that happy note, thanks for reading and see you again next time.
