Good morning, good evening, good whatever time of day it is. If you’re like me and currently parenting through the 6 weeks holidays, well done. 2 down, 4 to go. Speaking of which, I’m taking some time off after today’s episode and will return in a few weeks. With that, let’s set the scene. We’ve got a few months of Season 3 left, the BeefCo project is just about still going, although Crystal Palace are doing a LOT of the heavy lifting. Can we finish season 3 with a bang and maybe progress Nice or Go Ahead Eagles beyond mediocrity? Palace are on for the quadruple, remarkably. Let’s get to it.
Part one of that quadruple is the Pointless Cup, where we lead and then get pegged back. It goes all the way to penalties where everybody misses, though Emmers has the chance to win. He misses. Then Lauchlan has the chance to win it…and he misses too. Nicky Butt scores, Wicksy misses. No Pointless Cup.
What I really hate about this Nice side is how often the squad list looks like this, particularly in defence.
Palace are back at it in the Champions League where Ledezma continues his role as the greatest man on the planet with a double but Didi Hamann ruins the night with a last minute leveller. We’re going to have to win in Germany.
This is a reasonable away performance by Nice standards. The search for consistency with this mob will last forever.
The same could be said of the Go Ahead Eagles. This is another impressive performance which keeps us in with a shot at the top 6 and a lovely European adventure.
Five games to go…
This however, could be fatal. He’s great. His replacements are less good.
Palace are on the way to another final. This time in the FA Cup where we’ll once again face…Man Utd.
Look at this though, 9 goals in 3 days. Ignore the date on the screenshot being the same the first result in isolation wasn’t that interesting but then we stuck 4 past Chelsea and I was loving how good we are.
Here’s Nice having a wonderful day with the rarely seen double own goal.
Palace! It’s a third final of the season as we thrash Dortmund. Old man Vialli can even miss a pen and it not effect us.
Shock defeat graphic ahoy.
It’ll be Barcelona in the final after they just about survive a two legged Clasico.
This though could be a big blow to our title hopes. Richard Wright has had some costly red cards.
The injury situation at Nice is so bad we can barely name a 16 man squad. A truly hideous set of players.
Oh yes but we win 4-1 away at Lens. Make it make sense.
Another huge win for the GAE! Tammer’s about 3 games from leaving on a free but he’s still here scoring vital goals. Uncle Bulgaria is about to turn 38 but he scores a vital winner.
As it stands…we’re in the European places.
But then…disaster. I don’t even know who MVV are but this is a battering. A potentially critical blow.
Palace get back on track though.
Four points behind, 5 games to go for us. It’s possible…
It’s slightly less possible…a win here would have been great.
Look at how we finish the season. The game before that, annoyingly on the previous fixture page, is Newcastle away.
A gritty win at sunderland keeps us on target for that final day shootout.
EAGLE! A vital win but that Natigol injury could be a fatal blow. One game to go…
There’s loads of teams lining up to overtake us. We travel to AZ.
I suppose it’s quite fitting in a time where we have just lost Kevin Keegan that I am slumped over the advertising boards at the end of this one. We lead…twice…but end up losing in stoppage time.
Twente score an 86th minute winner to cost us very dearly. Damn!
Palace are the last hope of a successful season. JC’s red card is not helpful.
Luckily back in these days the red card suspension will take place two weeks after the red card – or next season, for us.
Our remaining games are Newcastle away and Man Utd at home remember.
Sky would be bashing themselves daft over this midweek Wednesday double. We fall 2-0 in Newcastle but the mackems hold Man Utd.
Ironically that might help Newcastle win the league.
So, we have to win at Old Trafford to secure Champions League football at the very least – and it’ll be the title if Newcastle fail to win at Stamford Bridge.
We’ve done our bit…
Curse you Steve Watson.
Second then, and at least we’ll get to play Champions league football again next season.
FA Cup final time and we are out for revenge after losing the Pointless Cup final on penalties. At 3-1 up with 15 minutes to go, they are engraving us into the trophy before Jason McAteer and David Beckham have other ideas. That’s extra time then and it looks like a replay until Nicky bloody Butt scores the winner. That hurts.
Off we go then to the Champions League final. Barcelona are without the banned Alfonso but can still line up like this:
Another Richard Wright red card proves pivotal and essentially ends the game as a contest after 10 minutes. Sub Keeper Bo Andersen gets man of the match.
Lovely Froylan though. The best £100k I have spent.
A solid season from the lads. Vialli missed the run in with an injury which is why he’s without a position.
Nice finished 10th, they are getting on my nerves.
The Eagles squad is about to lose Tammer. I hope he will sign for Nice. The fact nobody wants to sign for Nice or Go Ahead Eagles is really stalling this project.
Once again, I will gladly sell the entire squad. McVeigh would be a wonderful signing for GAE when he gets released, but he won’t be interested.
But that rebuild will have to wait for a few weeks time. Hopefully a fruitful off season awaits the BeefCo, frankly I would gladly leave Nice though other than a streaky promotion run I would leave no positive memories whatsoever of my time in France. Anyway, enjoy your summer and I’ll be back soon.

Bjorkan is an absolute worldie and you are playing him at RB…I think the only way you get the other two climbing up is to buy & loan from Palace. My other top tip is to offer new contracts ending in the following June at Christmas time for the players who are taking spaces up in your Nice and GAE squads. Great save this. Think you may need to go to July 15th 2026 to hit your target
Yeah he’s having to fill in at RWB as Edworthy was out for 3 months and Lombardo a year or whatever it was for his pelvis. Long term though a definite starter in his natural position. Getting players to go on loan to the other 2 was the plan but they just don’t want to, it’s really annoying!
Thanks for reading, glad you are enjoying it. Should be back in a few weeks
