It’s been a fiercely contested lockdown challenge. We started in Germany. We made Dortmund very English. We fled to Serie B. We demanded UEFA Cup success. We wanted you to put the world under pressure with the Republic of Ireland. We tore the rule book up and took you back to 95/96 to bring football home. Some of you did it all. Some of you were less successful. But we all had a great time, so we’re all winners. But in another, more accurate way, there is only one winner and I’ll reveal the results…right now.

CM9798 Lockdown Challenge 2: Task 6
Welcome! We’ve been through a lot together. We started in Germany, made Dortmund quite English before moving to Italy. That was fun, so after getting promoted from Serie B I demanded UEFA Cup success from you. Then we came home to oversee an Irish World Cup campaign. How do you follow that? Deep breath. Don’t hate me. I think it’s bad news for the English game.

Welcome back! Lockdown challenge 5 is on the way today which is actually the penultimate challenge as Zak and I optimistically thought lockdown might be over after 6 weeks. Anyway, prepare yourselves for something very different next week. In the here and now though, we’ll tally up your task 4 scores later on but first, let’s see what nonsense I’ve lined up for you this week.

Welcome back! It’s time for challenge four. After the disappointment that Mick Quinn had called it a day in most of your saves, I admire the resourcefulness in finding other 35 year old strikers to fill the void. Serie B was a mixed bag for you all, so it’s time to put you under pressure further. Is that a clue? Let’s find out.

Guten Morgen! That’s German for good morning. You’ve been beavering away making Dortmund as English as you can with some sensational results. If you haven’t been singing We’re on the Ball all week, you aren’t doing it right. But as Lockdown rumbles on, we’ve got another new challenge for you but I don’t have a song for it. Yet.

Guten Morgen! That’s German for how do you do? Last time out I set you the task to take this Borussia Dortmund team and retain the Champions League and by Jove, some of you actually managed. Others did not. We’ll have more on the results and the very early league table later, but first I need to reveal how we’re going to mangle this great side.

Lockdown Challenge 2: Task 1
Greetings! The world is a terrible place at the moment and it feels like every day brings more bad news from across the globe. We can’t directly effect that or make it better but as many parts of the world are stuck indoors, all I can offer you is the solace of Championship Manager.
After the relative popularity of the first set of lockdown challenges at the end of 2020, I’m going to post a new challenge every Friday. With the help of Zak, we’ll keep the scores and the league table. All you have to do is submit a few screenshots. Where are we off for Task 1?
