Greetings! It’s the end of another season for the Retirement Academy and I’ve got a good feeling that this is the season we actually make noticeable progress. It has been steady so far and probably not riveting for you, the noble reader. So if you’ve stuck with us, I hope today brings you some gratification. The Academy are 14 games from Europe. Let’s not screw it up!
Hola! Not sure why I opted for Spanish there but what’s written is written. It was a bleak start to season 6 in some ways, as we exited the Pints Cup at the group stage but found ourselves up in 4th after 7 games. There’s a saying about having to step back to go forwards but I’m not overly sure that is the case here. We will however endeavour to find out.
Welcome back! Season 6 is upon us here in Holland. The Retirement Academy managed to finish 6th, a sizeable improvement on previous seasons but narrowly short of European football. I think. I might be surprised but Holland isn’t as forthcoming with European places as other nations – especially when Heerenveen win the bloody Pints Cup.
Good morning to you! Ahh the run in episode, which is really hard to get excited about in Holland because it is practically half the season. I blame the Pints Cup for this. Anyway, it’s January, the Retirement Academy are 5th, yes FIFTH and chasing European football. I hope 5th is good enough, I’ll be honest, I don’t know for sure. Here’s the state of play where we pick things up.
Hello! Season 5 is heating up for the Retirement Academy after we started a season by not being horrendous. We sit third, though there are 27 games for things to go tits up. We’ll witness roughly half of them today.

Well good day to you. It’s the end of Season 4 here in Holland and the Retirement Academy are bang average. Or at least they were, with their best striker and arguably best player out for the rest of the season, there are definite problems to deal with. Luckily, there’s a transfer window to try and find some solutions.
