Good morning! Welcome back to the Retirement Academy, where season 3 has started in the typical “mixed bag” fashion. We’re 10th, which let me tell you I would snap your hand off for after surviving via the dreaded mega playoff league last season. We’ve got the regen of Ian Rush doing his best to keep our heads above water but with our self-set rules of 5 old & 5 young in every matchday squad, it’s always going to be difficult.
Welcome back to my latest favourite waste of time. The Retirement Academy are two seasons old, infants in the world of club football but somehow we’re a top Division Club in Holland. A ropey promotion was followed by a ropey survival, a very convoluted playoff system getting the assist on both occasions. But now, as season 3 dawns, it is time to try and establish ourselves. Although I have no doubt it will fall flat on it’s face, my recruitment strategy might help.
Well hello there. It’s the business end of season two already, these Dutch seasons are sneaky. They start early, you play a load of pointless cup games and before you know it you get a month off for Christmas. The Retirement Academy are a relatively new club and we are perhaps ahead of where I expected, but that doesn’t mean I want to be relegated at the first attempt.
Hello! Welcome back to Holland, where the young-old combinations are doing very averagely in the Eredivisie. It’s our first season at this level, so let’s just stay up and see how we go. Those young lads have got to improve eventually.
Greetings and welcome back to the Retirement Academy. Last week we came to the end of season 1 but after going through a ludicrous playoff system, we weren’t announced as promoted. July 15th came, we pressed continue and the good news came! So that cliffhanger didn’t last long.
Welcome! We’ve already arrived at the final part of season 1, the Dutch second tier has been a tough nut to crack for our old/young squad but we’re in the mix, and isn’t that all you could ask for at this stage?

Here we go again then. The Retirement Home took us to dark places but it all worked out in the end. How do you top that? It’s easily the most popular save I’ve ever done and clearly, we had to pull out all the stops to keep you, the loyal readers, interested.
