Good morning! Hopefully you all enjoyed your prolonged stay in Spain during the International break. Speaking of Internationals, I hope you’re prepared to pull double duty as you’ll be taking on an International job in Challenge 4. We’ll also have a review of Challenge 3 and the latest league table. Onwards!
World Cup 2002 qualifying is about to start, so I think it’s only fair we get involved. I know you like a challenge so I’d like you to add yourself as the Northern Ireland manager – Bryan Hamilton. Don’t worry, you’re still carrying on at club level, which you can still earn points for.

Main Aim: Reach 10 points in qualifying with Northern Ireland by the season update in June 2001. This will probably be about 5 or 6 games but might be less depending on the size of the group, so we’re keeping it mediocre. There’s 100 points available for that.
You can also have 20 points for every qualifying game you win with Northern Ireland.
You can manage at any club you are offered a job at, or stay where you currently are. If you’re going to move it has to be no later than September 30th.
Bonus points:
Win a trophy at club level (+75 points for every trophy won – winning any league counts)
Sign Erik Nevland (+50 points)
+Number of league goals scored (with club you finish season at)
-position in league leader (so again, the higher up the divisions the less points you’ll lose)
You have until Friday night at 10pm to be in the next update but as ever, submit any time you want and I’ll add you at the next opportunity. Submit by Twitter (@CM9798 – tweet or DM!) or by email. Play up to the season update in June, usually about the 13th.
Speaking of which, here’s the league table
League Table
Nick’s been busy again making us a bloody lovely table. Ollie leads the way after a monstrous score of 406. That’s what happens when you win the league with 114 points. Scenes in Tenerife.
The less fancy version of the table for 13th downwards:
As always, it’s never too late to submit your entries for any challenge and I’ll get them into the next update.
There’ll be some big points swings to come so you’re never out of the running.

I am still on season one with Fulham!! Brilliant challenge though, I don’t know where you find them but it’s brilliant and I am sure everyone appreciates the effort you’ve put in.
Take care,
Gary aka @retrofootballnetwork
Cheers Gary, it’s been a lot of fun to organise so hope you can join in when time allows
