Happy Tuesday. Nathan came close with Napoli but they’re struggling to go one step further. Can they rescue it this week?

Hello everyone. It’s Tuesday which means we are back in Naples (if only!) to see how Diego and the lads are getting on. Last time out we started well but the goals dried up and we couldn’t buy a win! Our European dreams where in tatters and we had fallen well behind the leaders in Serie A. Let’s hope for a turn around in fortunes here.

We get battered by Inter in the Coppa Italia QF 1st leg. Del Piero gives them the lead when he taps in a blocked shot. I take off Diego who has been poor and his replacement Nevalnd grabs his chance and levels the scores. Milanese then scores with a powerful header from a corner before Vignaroli slots home Sousa’s through ball.

This is an appalling result. We race into a 2 goal lead with goals from Sbrizzo and Bellucci on the back of 2 deflected Diego shots. Our former striker Protti then grabs 2 to level the scores all in the opening 20 minutes. We take the lead again, Imbriani scores a great curling effort. We look to be getting all 3 points until we concede 2 goals in the last 2 minutes to somehow lose the game. Incredible.

The last thing we need right now is to be playing Barca. Again we start well and take the lead when Sbrizzo plays a low cross for Bellucci to tap home from close range. De La Pena equalises then puts Barca 2-1 up but Nevland equalises before halftime. Barca find a 2nd gear though and crush us in the second half with two goals for Luis Enquire and 1 for sub Alfonso. This result sees us crash out of Europe and my position as manager is being reviewed.

A massive win at a critical time. Pirlo was sensational and opened the scoring with a worldie of a freekick from range. Nevland then gets tripped up in the box and Pirlo coolly slots home the resulting penalty. Wome then grabs one back but Maradona instantly restores our 2 goal lead. Bellucci gets in on the act as well to make it a comfortable 4-1 win.

We win in vain here as we come to the end of our Coppa Italia road. Nevland gives us the lead after some good build up play in midfield. We try to get a second which would see us through on away goals but Kawaguchi puts in a world class performance to ensure Inter go through to the Semi Finals.

A bit of a shuffle round in the team seems to have worked a treat. This is our game in hand and boy did we need this win. Nevland gives us the lead thanks to a neat assist from Diego. He doubles our lead with a run from deep and a powerful effort from the edge of box flying past Buffon. Iannuzzi gets one back for Milan but we don’t panic and Imbriani plays a 1-2 into the box and megs Buffon to make it 3-1. There is just enough time for Diego to grab a 4th and wrap up the win.

Another win here but we had to hang on in the second half. We started brilliantly by scoring in the first minute with Diego breaking through and chipping Ferron. Maradona then turns provider playing a cross across the box which Bellucci fires into the bottom corner. In the second half Jorge gets sent off for handball and instantly the game turns on its head with Sampdoria all over us. They get one back through captain Campolonghi and they throw everything at us but we just about manage to hang on for the win.

We get nowhere near league leaders Roma. Del Vecchio gives them the lead after a freekick hits the crossbar and cause havoc in the area before he sweeps it in at the back post. Nevland gets played through and adds another goal. He’s playing brilliantly at the moment. Roma go 2-1 in front from kickoff with Binotto scoring a great shot across the keeper. In the second half Ambrosi seals the win for Roma with a lovely finish into the bottom corner.

A crazy game here as Milan get some revenge for that 4-1 loss earlier. Enrico Chiesa is one of my favourite players on this game and he shows why by tearing us apart. He scores a sublime hattrick in the the first half. Crasson then grabs our first making a flying run down the wing to meet a cross and guide the ball into the net. Chiesa isn’t done yet though and adds a 4th straight from kickoff. Buffon then gets sent off and we claw the game back to 4-3 with goals from Maradona and Pirlo. Kluivert then kills any thoughts of a comeback with a tidy finish into the bottom corner.

A steady win to steady the ship. Diego gets us off the mark after some good link up play with Imbriani. In the second half Diego is making a nuisance of himself and finds a slim gap to play the ball through for Bellucci to get on the end of and smash into the roof of the net.

Another 2-0 win. I’m especially pleased about the clean sheets because we have been shipping a lot of goals. The two lads upfront give us the win. Firstly Nevland capitalises on a blocked shot to make it 1-0. Same again in the second half with Bellucci this time profiting from a loose ball.

Well we are 5th but we have been knocked out of the cup and Europe. 3rd to 6th is close with Juventus now firmly focused on run away leaders Roma. Join me next time as we look to rescue our season and try and keep in the managers seat.
