The Last Roman – Part 32: Euro 2008 Special | @FMCM_FC

Hello everyone and welcome to Spain for Euro 2008. The less said about the season we’ve just had with Roma the better. Hopefully Italy can give us some good news. We’ve won 2 World Cups so far but we couldn’t even get out of the group in the last Euros so we are aiming to get out the group as a bare minimum this time. We are in a group with Iceland, Greece & Croatia so it shouldn’t be a problem.

We open with a truly boring 0-0 draw against Croatia.

This is a disaster. We lead twice in this one thanks to goals from Pancaro and Stellone but Greece rescue a draw in the 87th minute. Poor from us.

Pathetic! Absolutely pathetic. Probably the worst result in Italian history. We go 3-1 down after an hour and never look like recovering. Another Euros over in the groups.

In the first Quarter Finals Germany win a tight contest against Portugal and hosts Spain cruise past Holland.

Both teams from our group make it no further scoring no goals which just compounds our pathetic effort.

Freddy Kanoute sends France through to the final. Hosts Spain send the country wild as they edge past Germany.

The final is boring until penalties and it’s Spain who get the win in front of 116,908 delirious fans.

So that’s another Euros done and another pathetic performance from Italy. Join me next time in Rome to see if Totti and the gang can have a much better season than the last one.
