Hello and welcome to a milestone season 10 in our quest to reach the end of CM9798. We’ve had great times in Morton and not so great times in Coventry. We got relegated with Motherwell but last season we won the Scottish Division 3 title to go straight back up. So let’s have another crack at Division 2.

August

Brilliant start to the season. We win both games in the league before reaching the 3rd round of the Coca Cola Cup where we get knocked out by Inverness who are in the Prem. We also advance the League Challenge Cup. We only concede 3 goals in 7 games thanks to signing Jose Chilaverts regen. We have also signed Scott Booths regen who has scored 5 goals already. Sevchenko signs up. As do Jamie Redknapp and Kevin Phillips regens.

September

Just the one loss in September. Foster (Scott Booth Jr) is on fire and has created a great partnership with Sevchenko. Clydebank were top when we beat them 2-1.

Kilmarnock were unbeaten at this point so it was really good to get a result in their back yard. Redknapp Jr and Douglas Walker both putting in great performances.

October

Only 2 wins in October. We get beat in the Challenge Cup Semi Finals by St Mirren who are in the division above us. Losing to bottom of the league Montrose wasn’t great.

Falkirk were 2nd so this was a good result for us. Hatton had a blinder coming back into the team after a small injury.

November

4 wins out of 4 this month. We are rolling here. 13 points clear at the top of the table.

Game of the month is this away win at 3rd place Stranraer. Scott Booth Jr adding 2 more to his growing goals tally. Prenderville gets both assists and adds a goal for a worthy Man of the Match performance.

December

Only 2 wins out of 6 which is worrying. The gap has been cut to six points at the top.

Revenge against Montrose, even with the red card. Our front two on form with a goal a piece.

January

No wins in January. The wheels are really falling off us. We need to switch it back on and quickly!

February

4 wins and a draw is exactly what we needed. We now have a 10 point lead with 6 games to go.

This big win at 2nd placed Ross County got the winning run started. Youngs (Redknapp Jr) pulled the strings. Bagged 2 goals and assisted the third for Prenderville. A Hyslop own goal helped as well.

March

Back to back titles!! Ok so it’s not exactly top titles but they all count. Back to Division 1 next season which we won 10 seasons ago with Morton.

Just the one loss to 2nd placed Clydebank. The win at Cowdenbeath sealed the title for us.

So that’s 10 out of 30 seasons done. I’ll do a separate update to show what has happened around the top leagues and Europe in the last 10 seasons. Join me next time as we look to get promoted to the Premier League.
