I’ve decided to carry on. After escaping relegation last season, I can’t finish on a low note. Surely I can drag these Latino fools back to glory, right?
It’s not the best of starts and I’m fearing another calamatious season ahead of me.

Valencia and Olivero are ex-Toon so of course they commit us to defeat. I’m wondering if I have signed the Bolton Jardel after all.
Talking of Bolton, we beat them. Jardel is dropped so I replace him with last seasons signing, Brasil Adriano. Those with a good memory will remeber he broke his leg on his debut and missed the whole of the season. Looks like hes’ making up for lost time.
I fear the Blurst when Veron gets himself into an early bath against Bradford but despite a late comeback, Adriano proves to be the winner. As Meatloaf once sang, two out of three ain’t bad.
Sadly, he never got a chance to sing ‘three out of four is really good’, but you can’t have everything. Fidel is off penalty duties.
This boy is on fire!
Fidel takes his frustration at being off penalties against Boro, but not in a constructive way and we can make no inroads a man down.
Neither can we make things work to our advantage when we’re a man up. I’m sure Ron Swales was Man City’s chairman once upon a time…..?
It’s all a bit tame against Division 2 Huddersfield, but we should have too much for them in the second leg. Reynoso takes advantage of the rarest of starts.
Wednesday are easily dispatched buit it comes at the cost of my promising young goalkeeper from Argentina. I have Dida but his technique is 1.
Dida does a decent job against City, and Bati-Old gets on the scoresheet at 35 years of age, lovely stuff.
Bati-Old is at it again in the League Cup, but he and Adriano can’t suppress an inspired Huddersfield, invoking the spirit of Neil Warnock. Two sending offs didn’t really help matters. Now we’re out of one domestic cup and knackered.
We’re really missing Goycoechea in goal, but it’s nice to see Geordio get on the scoresheet, even if iot’s mainly academic.
Stand in keeper Carlo Salas keeps a cleansheet against Arsenal, who are not what they once were. We are looking more and more regen these days.
Next up its a visit from Villa and we can’t find a way past Johnny Buckley a second time so have to settle for points shared. My thats a lot of yellow cards….
Well, that’s a third of the league campaign done, and as Meatloaf might have sung if he was good at fractions, 7 out of 12 ain’t bad. It’s certainly more paradise by the dashbaord light than last season.
So, we’re only a couple of wins off top spot, and it’s all down to this guy – how we missed him last season and we didn’t even know it!
I’ve not idea who he is the regen of, so if anyone knows, please give me a shout – it’ll save me searching the database!
See you next Saturday, up the Toon!
