Hello. Welcome back to the 30 season challenge. Last season saw us guide Crystal Palace to top half finish in the Premier League as well as wins in the Champions League against Inter Milan and Monaco. This season with no European distraction let’s see if we can challenge for the title again or even pick a cup.

August

It’s an unbeaten start to the season for us with 2 wins and 3 draws. We sit 5th after 5 games.

First game of the season and we blow Birmingham away. Hellebuyck was brilliant. He opened the scoring then provided 2 assists for Miletic. Whitington adds a 4th late on.

September

We go unbeaten in September! Still too many draws in the league for my liking but i can’t complain too much. We make it past Notts County in the League Cup and the 1-1 draw with Arsenal was a great match.

Game of the month is this impressive win away at Man City who are one of the best teams in England and have been for the past few seasons.

October

Only 3 games in October but we remain unbeaten. The win over Leeds who are above us in 3rd was particularly pleasing.

Game of the month comes in the League Cup with as we win on penalties after a great 2-2 draw. Whitington is on fire at the moment and was tremendous in this game.

November

We finally lose against high flying Chelsea who are currently 2nd. The draws are doing the real damage though. Every goalkeeper we come across seems to be MOTM which is annoying! Neil Foster came in for the injured Miletic and scored all 4 against Ipswich.

We were 2-0 down in this one but the subs lit up our performance. Foster got the 1st goal back and Demenkovets provided the assists for both goals. A great rescue effort.

December

Unbeaten again in December. We are still drawing so many games though. We are hard to beat to find it difficult to finish teams off.

The top of the table is incredible at the moment. As you can see we have only lost 1 game which is better than anyone but 11 draws out of 21 games is an unreal stat!

January

Another unbeaten month but this time the wins outweigh the draws! 2 of those wins come against Chelsea, who were above us in the league & Walsall of Division 3 to see us through to the 5th round of the FA Cup.

A rare goal from captain Vinnie Purdie helped us on our way to a win over Newcastle. We are currently 2nd in the league chasing Arsenal once again.

February

We finally lose at Anfield but we win our other games. This means we are top of the table. The win over Arsenal was massive, especially away from home.

10 games to go. Can we hang on?

March

We stay unbeaten in the league but we get knocked out of the FA Cup which is really annoying as i really wanted a trophy this season. We do hold a 4 point lead in the league though but Arsenal have a game in hand.

We hammer Sunderland at home. Losing their keeper after 4 minutes probably didn’t help in fairness

April/May

Once again we fall short against Arsenal. The draws kill us as does the lack of goals towards the end of the season. Whitington dropped off a cliff which was really disappointing.

So despite finishing 2nd it’s a bitterly disappointing end to the season. It does mean another crack at Europe next season so we have that to look forward to. Hopefully you can join me then.
