Hello and welcome back to the 30 for 30 challenge in which the aim is very simple. Get to the last page of the game. After the high of winning our first Premier League title we found life tough at the top and finished 5th last season. Let’s try and recapture the title.

August/September

Big news to start the season. I received an offer I couldn’t refuse.

It’s not every day you get offered your dream job.

It’s been a decent start to the season. The loss to Sunderland was my fault, I forgot to change the tactics which where all over the place. We draw with former club Palace but we beat early leaders Man Utd. A good win in the UEFA Cup 1st leg should see us through to the next round.

October

October is a cup month. We ease pas Frankfurt in the UEFA Cup and batter Helsingborg 5-1 in Sweden in the 3rd round 1st leg. We beat Bristol City 3-2 in the League Cup as well. Our only loss in the league was against Hull. We battered them but our finishing was atrocious and cost us dearly. We do end the month with Manager of the Month.

November

Unbeaten in November which sees us hit the top of the table for the first time this season.

Absolutely mental game in the UEFA Cup 3rd round 2nd leg. Helsingborg throw everything at us but we throw it right back at them!

December

December is another cracker for us. Losing to Leicester was really annoying! We also progress to the Quarter Finals of both the League Cup & the UEFA Cup.

January

We win all our cup games this month which means we are in the League Cup Semi Final, FA Cup 5th round and UEFA Cup Quarter Final. It also means we have a ton of games to get through. We still hold top spot in the league but we need to start winning our league games as well.

February

February is an absolute disaster. We get knocked out of both the League Cup & FA Cup and only manage 1 win in the whole month!! The goals have dried up this month which is a concern.

March

March is another terrible month for us. We are ravaged by injuries and suspensions. We get knocked out of the UEFA Cup by Compostela and lose top spot in the league to Ipswich!

April/May

Interesting Scottish Cup final this year!

We’ve been utterly dog shit these last 3 or 4 months. I’m tempted to sell the lot of them and start again from scratch. We end up 5th which is shocking considering we were top 2 all the way to February. Join me next time for hopefully a big rebuild
