Hello and welcome back to our 30 for 30 challenge. The end is near (thank god!!) but we still have a couple of seasons left. Last season was easily our most successful so far as we completed the Scottish League and Cup double with Rangers. This season we are going to have an assault at the Champions League.

August

Not the best start in the league but we make it through first 2 rounds of the League Cup and into the group stages of the Champions League. Partick Thistle went 2-0 up in the League Cup before we stormed back. They are becoming a serious thorn in our side. Here is a look at our Champions League group.

Atletico Madrid won La Liga last season so they are the obvious danger!

September

Our only loss in September comes in Madrid. We beat Dinamo Kiev though and Atletico draw with Fenerbache so it’s still all to play for. We storm into the League Cup Semi Finals and beat rivals Celtic at Ibrox.

October

Unbeaten again in October and we make it to the League Cup Final where, of course, Celtic await. Another win in the Champions League keeps our hopes of qualifying alive.

November

Another unbeaten month but 2 games stick out.

You know those games where it feels like the computer doesn’t want you to win. This was it. 2-0 up and cruising Porato takes out Solomon for a penalty. No keeper on the bench sees a keeperless formation. Neil comes on for 10 minutes then gets sent off and another penalty goes in. Luckily Docabo-Donini steals a winner late on.

We win the League Cup emphatically against our Old Firm rivals. Marsden helps by getting sent off early on and we cruise to another trophy. That’s the Scotland Trophy collection completed.

December & January

Got a bit carried away and played through 2 months. We breeze through both months until Celtic beat us in Feb. We’ve qualified top of our Champions League group where Real Betis await in the Quarter Final.

February

We only concede 2 goals in February which is brilliant! we lose against Celtic for the first time in a while and of course Partick Thistle grab a goal against us before we turn on the afterburners.

March

March is all about the cups. We batter Betis 3-0 at Ibrox and secure a draw in Spain to go through to the Semi Final against our fellow group stage qualifier Atletico. In the FA Cup, We have an off day as Berwick earn a draw. In the replay they score a 90th minute equaliser which is ruled out and see us through to the Semi Final.

April

Ok so things are getting serious. League Cup is in the bag. We win the title away at Celtic Park of all places. We are in the FA Cup Final and the Champions League Final. The Champions League Final is against current holders Sporting Lisbon.

May

Clean sweep in Scotland. Can we add a European Cup?

YES!!!!! UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!! It’s a clean sweep of trophies. Quadruple in the bag!! What a sensational season. What a team this is!
