Sword Quest. Part 3: I’m Smelting! | @Emsonite

Hello. You back for more. Well if you remember from the first episode, William Wallace wants the Windscreen smelted for his sword. We’ve got at least 2 cracks at this tournament. And we’re drawn with Shrewsbury and Blackpool. This episode is going to mainly concentrate on our Windscreen campaign.

We leave it late at Gay Meadow but in the end it’s a comfortable win.

Qualified after one game.

Yay. We’ve got some money.

Another Premier League scalp. And we’re into the 4th Round. I can smell the metal.

Did someone say scalp?

A late fightback against the Japanese. But it’s another defeat in Div 3.

Scottish center half Handyside done well in my recent exploits with Grimsby town in a just for fun save. He should be good for us. To be honest there’s not a lot else out there Jock-wise.

Handyside’s debut comes in the FA Cup first round against the Welsh minnows.

Sword Quest continues.

More money!

We pick up Andy for £400k. His debut is top notch.

Big on quality.

Liddell on price.

2nd Round of the Windscreen. Tough match against Preston could have gone either way and Wallace wins it in sudden death.

Did someone say death?

David McKenszie comes in from Albion Rovers. Stats an 8+ average. £625k. Not sure if i’ve overpaid.

Another stinker of a draw in the League Cup. Away to Newcastle. We ride our luck and win again.

Sword Quest continues!

Victory over Merthyr in the league takes us into the Top 3 for the first time this season.

Their owner isn’t happy about it.

Whack!

More money. Lauchlan was on a big-clubber. I’ll sign him back in a couple of years for half the price.

Disaster in the FA Cup. Keeper gets injured and our 17 year old back up has butter fingers. Wallace then scores at the wrong end. And we’re out.

More money for this 17 year old. Again, I can probably buy him back cheaper later on.

No one else to spend it on yet.

After another stinker of a draw, Oldham knock us out in the Quarter Final of the Windscreen.

It’s a massive setback and Wallace is not happy.

All our eggs are in the League Cup basket now for this season. And it’s another away draw. And what a draw it is. Glasgow Celtic. The white and green turn coats. Our two center halves are out, James injured and Handyside cup-tied. But I still fancy our chances. Celtic are rock bottom of the Premier League. I’ve also signed Kevein Harper who’s coming straight in for his debut. And what a debut it is.

We absolutely wiped the floor with them at Celtic Park. Rod Stweart is crying.

Seems like a good place to leave it this week. See you next time when we have an unlikely League Cup semi.

But we’re 4th in Div 3 and promotion is by no means assured. Bye for now.
