Greetings and welcome back to the CM9798 Challenge League. A massive thank you to everyone who got involved in part 1, we’ll have a look at the league table later on. I should point out, it’s never too late to join in, the deadlines we set are mainly so we have a cut off to get the league tables drawn up (and again, massive thanks to Nick and Zak for their graphics and score keeping capabilities!). So, what now?
Challenge 2: Italian Job
I hope you’ve enjoyed your time at Leyton Orient because it’s time to say goodbye – or should that be arrivederci. Resign from Leyton Orient and add yourself in as the club rock bottom of Serie A. I don’t want you to be home sick though so you must sign one Leyton Orient player to come with you – anyone at all, but you’re going to get 10 points for every goal they score for you (competitive games only, clever clogs). They must be signed directly from Leyton Orient, it can’t be a player who has already left you.
As an extra bonus, all you need to do is sign one player who has caps for Italy. The number of caps they have is the number of points you will receive. Keep an eye out for the Italian transfer deadline at the end of January, that clock is ticking!
These are the only two players you can sign!
Don’t play on any further than the last day of the league season (a couple of days will probably be fine). Part 3 might involve the World Cup (it also might not, I really haven’t thought that far ahead but wouldn’t want to rule it out!).

Screenshots Needed:
- Screenshot of Serie A table on January 3rd (ish, appreciate you might be a day or so over that).
- Player history from your one Leyton Orient signing at the end of the season.
- Serie A table at the end of the season
- Player history screen of Italian signing
- Transfers In screen
Nothing too complicated but challenging nevertheless, I hope. Good luck! Please send your entries to either davetin9@gmail.com or by tagging me & CornishZak on Twitter – or you can DM us. I’m sorry to say we can’t take any more entries via Facebook as it is very difficult to keep track of, the way they order posts is insane.
The Table
Early days yet but here’s the table after week one. A healthy 43 of you took part. As is tradition, the top 12 get the snazzy treatment which everybody else can aspire to in future weeks. If your score is missing, please let me know – it’s not malicious, there were just entries all over the place and I might have missed one. There was also one entry who finished the season, which unfortunately null and voided the score. By all means though, please feel free to play it again if you have time and we’ll get you added in next week.
Congratulations to Ashley who takes an early lead. His decision to play Bjorn as a striker with 3 AMCs in behind paid huge dividends.
We’ll probably look to do about 6 challenges.
The Prize
If you missed the news during the week, the prize for winning the overall challenge league is a mystery shirt from Surprise Shirts. I really like the background to their company and even if you don’t win, they are worth checking out and ordering a mystery shirt from if football shirts are a passion of yours.
Best of luck and I’ll see you all for part 3.

Recently gotten back In to CM9798 having lost a few years of my teenage years to it. Stumbled across this page and challenge thingy. Just wondered what it is about and how to get involved?
