Greetings! It’s the final part of our Challenge League and what a tremendous time we’ve had. It’s been an absolute blast throwing these together for you each week and I’m sure we will be back with another series later in the year. However, the curtain must come down and a winner must be crowned. So, what to do?
The obvious bit first, you’ve got to see through the challenge with Wales. Carry on from your previous save. There’ll be big points on offer for getting Wales to Euro 2000 and even more for success there. At club level, you are leaving France and heading to England. I want you to take over Manchester United and channel your inner Jim Ratcliffe. There’s points on offer for every player you sell, I want you to dismantle the club as we know it and still gain success in the Premier League. I can’t offer points for the Champions League or the League Cup (as they might not be in either in January 99) but plenty of fun to be had in the League and FA Cup.
Points on offer:
- Qualify for Euro 2000 with Wales (+500 points)
- Reach the Quarter finals (+100), Semi finals (+200), Final (+500) or Win Euro 2000 (+1000) with Wales
- Every player sold from Manchester United (+200) (Players signed cannot be re-sold)
- Win the Premier League (+200, deduct 25 points for every position below 1st)
- Win the FA Cup (+100)
- Top scorer being a new signing (+200, -200 for an original) (+Number of goals)
- Getting sacked (-500 points)
For avoidance of doubt, your points for Wales’ performance is the furthest round only e.g. reaching the semi finals will get you 200 points and not 300. There are no limits on who you can sign but players must be sold and not released.
You don’t need to manage any club during the 1999/2000 season, just Wales until you are out of Euro 2000.

Please send your screens to davetin9@gmail.com or on X/Twitter @CM9798. As this is the final week, we need your submissions by 8pm Saturday 2nd March as that is a hard stop if you are playing for prizes, which is a shirt from Surprise Shirts. Who is in the lead you ask?
League Table
With just one challenge to go, James Rawlins leads the way with a healthy 180 point advantage. The challenge for part 6 could lead to a massive swing in points so nobody can rest on their laurels. A potential wildcard is Chris Tavner, who hasn’t submitted for part 5 yet but he could move into the top 3 with a solid score. Well done to Diamond Dallas David De Poorter for this rounds top score of 479. Zak’s on holiday and left me in charge of scoring, so as usual if you are missing just let me know.
Good luck this week and thanks for playing!

Hi.
Do we only play Wales in the 99-00 season and give up Manchester United?
Yes, that’s right
Can we sell players that the previous manager signed to the squad?
