Welcome back again! This week’s tale is of the transfer window. Here is a customary reminder of who was allowed to sign how many.
Deano, Nathan and Zak will get 1 transfer, Phil, myself, Ross and Rob will be allowed 3 signings, whilst Dave, Matt and Nick will be afforded 5 new players.
So, who did everyone target. A reminder that everyone was allowed to select any Scandinavian players who began the season at Scandinavian clubs but were not already assigned to one of our teams.
Each manager could provide a list of up to 16 targets in preference order. The draft would see preference go to the lowest ranked team where a tie in selection was made. Any teams tied on points, I’d spin the wheel of misfortune and see who misses out.
The Transfer Lists
In the end, we only needed the top 10 choices as there was a fair amount of difference in the lists. For anyone wondering how Rob has 3 and Deano has 1 selection, we made the call on volumes before the end of September.
(Note: Phil has missed the deadline and can select three players at any point moving forward before the next window).

The top three most selected targets were Jesper Ljung (5), Frederik Bild (4), and Lars Larsen/Miklos Molnar/Stian Neset (3). So, starting at the bottom, who got who?
OB – Nick
Nick was successful in bolstering his squad fairly well. He secured Miklos Molnar, Aslak Salkjelsvik, Ludwig Ernstsson, Andreas Jacobsson and Freddie Ljungberg.
AIK – Matt
Matt made some pretty good picks. It’s just a shame they all play in the same position largely! He sees Olav Haug, Peter Degn, Kern Lyhne, Lars Larsen and Kim Suominen join the ranks to see if they can turn a struggle of a season around.
Dave – SK Brann
Dave is hoping for a f****** miracle. And one is provided as he secures the elusive Frederik Bild along with Stian Neset, Magnus Kihlstedt, Christian Duus (opening the door to a number of poor Dad jokes), and Joakim Alexandersson.
Ross – Brondby
Ross has a decent squad that has suffered early from injuries. He is low on pace, so hopefully he has looked to add some. Ross secured his first three preferences in Martin Knudsen, Anders Smith and Karl-Oscar Fjortoft.
Me – FC Kobenhaven
I also managed to secure my first three preferences. This means I get Jorgen Walemark, Jesper Ljung and former Liverpool man Torben Piechnik.
Rob – Stromsgodset
That Rob dropped low enough when we decided to make these transfer numbers is an outrage. Anyway, he adds Torgeir Bjarmann, Frode Fermann and Inge Andre Olsen to his already stacked squad.
Phil – AaB
Phil missed the deadline and, for now, is stuck with his squad as it stands.
Deano – IFK Goteborg
Deano has been unlucky, when we made these choices he was flying and has seen somewhat of a fall lately. As such he adds a player nobody wanted or knew existed. Mikael Martensson from Degafors.
Zak – Malmo
Zak’s high flying swedes have no midfield depth. Zak adds sensibly in Peter Nielsen.
Nathan – Rosenborg
Nath’s squad is actually well balanced, but his ‘keepers are not great. Nath brings in the iceman, Peter Frostvik to strengthen that department.
And with that, our first transfer window is over. Such a success that we have decided to have a January transfer window too. The rules of which are to be released at some point. It might be standard, it might be pretty evil. We will see.
