Hello and welcome back. It’s taken 20 seasons but we finally won the Premier League! Our first top division title. After slugging it out in the basement of Scottish Football and the near misses it was the best title win ever. But it’s not the end of this journey. We are still aiming for that final page. So let’s crack on as Champions.
August
A great start as we beat Arsenal in the Charity Shield. New boy Aurelio with the winner after we were 2-1 down in the 2nd half.
Not the greatest start to our title defence. I’m trying new goalkeepers which might be the issue. As you can see we have drawn IFK Gothenburg, Club Brugge & Inter Milan in the Champions League.
September
September is a busy one. We lose against Arsenal and Ipswich who are both flying. We do pick up a win in the Champions League to kick off our European campaign.
October
October is a better month. Our only loss comes against Everton, who also offered me their managers job. Two big wins in Europe see us with 9 points out of 9 in our group.
November
We are super inconsistent at the moment. We progress in the League Cup but take 2 poor defeats in the Champions League. the goals in the league have dried up so reinforcements might be required.
December
December sees the inconsistency continue. The biggest damage comes from Club Brugge scoring in the 89th minute which sees fall short of qualifying in the Champions League. Losing 5-1 to Newcastle was a low point as well. Not as low as losing 4-2 to Division 2 Boston.
January
Not much going on in Jan after getting knocked out of the FA Cup. We beat Liverpool at Anfield but get by Man Utd again.
February
Feb is better for us. We beat Blackburn & Middlesbrough but get a battering from Arsenal which was expected to be honest.
March
We pick up a really good win against top of the table Hull but losses to Leicester and Chelsea some up our inconsistent form this season. I have signed Chilaverts regen to help us out at the back.
April
April is easily our best month as we bag 4 wins out of 4. We’ve crept up the table into the top 6 which would be a good season for us all things considered.
May
We finish the season with 2 wins, we won’t talk about the Sunderland result. It’s been a real up and down season but we manage to finish 5th which is a good season for us.
Ipswich take the title from us and it wasn’t really close in the end for them. Man Utd are back amongst the title chasers after their promotion last season. Join me next time to see if we can recapture the title or finally win a domestic trophy
