Bank Holiday Monday – time for bbq’s, beers and tales of David Brown. We’re into the final Paul Furlong of Season 5 and when we left things last week, AFC united we’re battling to improve on 5th place in the table. We’re 8pts adrift and don’t look keen to make it up.

Welcome back to your Monday pick me up of life with the Alex Ferguson Cast Offs. We’re getting to the middle part of Season 5 where we’re defending champions, but we’re not hitting the heights of last season.
The League Cup is a welcome distraction, but lowly Runcorn run us close, but we Twiss the knife in extra time.
Happy Monday! They say retaining a Premier League title is the hardest thing in football. Ok, I don’t know who said it but I’ve heard it. Can Matt make it happen amidst a backdrop of Champions League football?
Division 3 Champions, Division 2 Champions, League Cup Runners Up, Division 1 Champions, FA Cup Winners, Charity Shield Runners Up, Premier League Champions, Cup Winners Cup Winners.
We did all of that in 4 seasons. All of that with ex-Man Utd players. It’s been amazing, but I’m hungry for more. I’ve grown to love these players. The goals of David Brown, the defensive rock that is Danny Hall. Terry Cooke and Jesper Blomqvist patrolling those inverted winger positions. George Switzer. Alan Tonge. These names join Nevland, Duncan, Notman etc…in the CM97/98 Hall of Fame for me. Can we go further, or is it all just a glorious peak and our experiment will be found out, lets see….
You’ll recall last time out no-one wanted to retire, we built 5,000 seats and in came Laurent Blanc and Juan Veron, so we’re looking set for the season ahead.
Merry Monday. I’ve spent my weekend nursing a sick toddler. Hopefully Matt will have more success with the end of season run-in for AFC United. Is the title challenge on?
It’s Monday, lockdown restrictions are loosening a bit more, but can my team of Man Utd cast off’s tighten their grip at the top of the Premier League in their maiden season?

It’s Easter Monday and we have the perfect accompaniment for those remaining Easter eggs. It’s Matt and AFC United of course but is the title challenge going to fade?

We left things last week with an amazing start to life in the big time and we sit 9 points clear at the top in our maiden season.

‘Here’ is the Premier League and the ‘strangers’ are those established Premier League teams we’ve yet to play. I’m sure that’s what the Bee Gees had in mind when they sang ‘Nights on Broadway’.
Anyway, we’ve risen through the divisions as quickly as possible and secured a foray into Europe courtesy of our FA Cup win over Blackburn last season and we’ve signed a couple of ex Man Utd/Aston Villa stars in Mark Bosnich and Paul McGrath.

Sorry, I’ve been listening to a lot of music by Blossoms lately. Very unlike me to be listening to a ‘modern’ band, so lets head back to where our heart still resides – the 90’s. Late 90’s to be exact, very late 90’s.
My squad of ex-Man United have rocketed from Division 3 to the summit of Division 1, are they just 30 games away from a reunion with the Mothership? This part should make the picture clearer.
Here’s how we left things last week…the Watford Gap is two points. Shearer-less Newcastle are aiming to get back to the big time at the second attempt. We’re here to thwart them.
Happy Monday! Here in the role of Bez is Matt Wills, with AFC United now a Division 1 side following back to back promotions. How is he preparing for the task ahead?
Division One – I’ve been here before recently. With an all Welsh team it was hard work, but this time around I have my merry band of ex Man Utd men to rely on. Can we make it 3 promotions on the trot?
United alumni Paul Ince and Quinton Fortune have joined us on our quest, whilst we lost Brian McClair and Les Sealey to retirement and contract rebel Ronnie Wallwork thinks he’ll play some games at Liverpool, we’ll see.
Our line up for life in Division One looks like this. We’re still a work in progress. We all know what Andrew Duncan is capable of, hopefully his 2 seasons as an understudy haven’t stalled his development. Alan Tonge is a capable back up I reckon. Wingbacks are still a concern, Blackmore is getting no younger, so Switzer and Brightwell have it all on their shoulders.
