Liam brings you the latest from the A-Z game where after moulding a brilliant Darlington team, destin-E is calling…
Right. I am back. I haven’t been on the game for 4 months due to lockdown, and leaving my laptop at work! So if things are a little bit rusty, I apologise. However – here we go!

Espanyol finished 4th in the Premera Division and it potentially one of the best E clubs I could have gone to. I am very lucky that Juan Manuel Lillo left Espanyol to take over at Betis. Thank god this is one of the soonest I have been able to take over somewhere. I have £10.25mil to spend, so I will be going to my former club Darlington to get a couple of players. I will also sell some players to make way. It is also a chance to change up the tactic and give a new one a chance.
First transfer isn’t from Darlington, but it is the regen of Hagi. Funny thing is,…His name is still Hagi

Darlington appoint a player that I brought

Also joining from Darlington will be Betterton, Blackstone and Lee. All going into my starting lineup.

Those 3 will be England internationals by the end of the season, mark my words. Also in comes Popescu regen

Also, in comes the easily found Japhet N’Doram regen, Kenneth Fiawoo for 5k.

Also coming in, is youngster Refik Ognjenovic. Can you guess who’s regen this guy is?

A whole lot of nothing then proceeds until we get to our first game. Formation wise, I am yet to decide what we will run. However, we have time to put it all into practice. Going to run with this…

Our first game is at home to Mallorca. A difficult but winnable start. We do go 1-0 down, however Esnaider grabs one back. Hagi grabs another, and we grab a nice 2-1 victory.

Small change as I would like to get some youth into the team, therefore I drop Esnaider for Diawoo. We are away to Tenerife, and it is a game that we again dominate statistics. However, we manage to scrape a 1-1 draw in the final minutes.

I pick up Benny McCarthy on a free, and a very nice looking striker named Srdjan Radojicic from Red Star Belgrade. I also stick a bit in for a very interesting young CDM who I think can take on the world.

Also comes in to start alongside Blackstone is Carlos Geraldo, aswell as the CDM that I was chasing. Please welcome, Warren McKeown

McKeown is injured however, he will be back for the starting squad. Next game is very tough, an away game to Valencia. It doesn’t go our way however, and we lose 2-1. I may need to relook at the tactic, and go back to something I know best.

Transfer wise, I think I have made more than enough! I’ll only go for youngsters moving forward, to uncover players I think will help me throughout my full career. Merida up next and I should really be winning this one. Nathan Lee finally gets his first for the club, He follows it up with another, and we get a 2-1 win. Could be better, could be a lot worse!

Kevin Keegan crosses across London to end up at Tottenham

Big game next, Real Madrid. The might Real Madrid. Van Der Sar, Panucci, Roberto Carlos, Makelele, Seedorf, Raul, Alfonso… Again, a game I can’t really expect too much from, and hope for damage limitation. Alfonso picks up their first goal, and then their second. Centre back Jorge Costa grabs their 3rd and we mount a small comeback with goals from Javi Prats and Refik Ognjenovic, but it is too little too late.

Antic will no longer be coaching on the other side of Madrid;

And, Roy Evans will also be moving back home

Up next, our first game in the UEFA Cup. A nice draw against Lillestrom, and hopefully a strong performance. However, after 12 minutes, we find ourselves 2 goals down. We get gifted a handy away goal but we lose 2-1, to Lillestrom. A new low.

So yeah, not good. Not good at all. We need to improve that! Super Neil Warnock will be moving on

Deportivo away up next, another very difficult game. Warren McKeown will be making his debut at CDM, whilst Fiawoo comes in for the injured Etxeberria. Things start badly as we go 1 goal and one player. Nathan Lee gets up one back, but it isn’t to be, It is a 2-1 defeat.

Spain appoint an Italian this time

Frank Lampard snr is back at West Ham

While Ian Rush will be moving on

Aswell as Steve Bruce! The managerial merry go round begins

Next up, Sociedad visit the Olimpico Montjuic. I really need a win if I have any chance of pushing for the title. If I don’t, then I will have to look at cup matches.

Bollocks. Roy Evans who recently left Spain, moves to sunny Newcastle

Final match of the update is Lillestrom, who beat us 2-1 in the first leg. Surely, I have to win?

That’s better. Not the greatest start to live at Espanyol and I feel like our best chance of moving on will be in the cups. Until next time!
