Hello, welcome back to Germany in the 2000, where my Cologne team are a mix of goal scorers and goal conceders. Here’s where I left you last week

Fifth and eleven points off the pace with ten games to go, but we are still in the hunt for European glory in the Cup Winners Cup, but……we can’t overcome the two goal deficit from the first leg and just like that, we’re out of Europe. Landreau just proved too hard to beat twice in the end.

To get over the exit, we dispatch Zwickau and keep a very rare clean sheet.
We go to a very good two goal lead against Dortmund, but as always, we can’t hold onto it. If I’m going to achieve anything with these jokers, we need to be beating these guys

A big let off against Munch 7pm when Bjarni skies his penalty. Pflipsen may turn out to be a rare statute signing.

Another win, another clean sheet.

Ah, that’s more like it. Do all teams in Germany play in red and white?

Uwe Rosler threatens to ruin our recent good form but uncharacteristically, we don’t capitulate!

Four games to go, we couldn’t, could we……?

Well, if we do, we’ll have forgotten man Anelka to thank for knocking in four goals against Bochum. He always seems to prove a point to me for leaving him out.

Two more against the Kusen, in reality this match is all over my half time.

Two to go and if would take an epic collapse from Dortmund for us to overtake them, but second place and Champions League football is a real possibility……

Meanwhile, our brothers from Schalke fail to defeat Bordeaux

Anelka, you flipping French beauty!

One to go. Our goal difference is plus 29, Dortmund’s is 27, so if they lose their last game and we win, a very unlikely title is ours!

We’ll have to do it without Carl Carlsen though……

Stuttgart go all the way against their French opponents

So, last game. We need to beat David Dusseldorf, while Dortmund need to lose to basement club Mainz. Seems unlikely doesn’t it?

We do our bit, despite the best efforts of Scott Minko…..

Mainz are a bunch of useless tossers really

If only we hadn’t drawn 2-2 with Dortmund….oh well

It’s definitely progress, sort of

No German or French teams in the big one

End of season awards now as I forgot to record the stats of the players, and even who won Euro 2000. Bierhoff and Zedi our stand out performers this season

Well, after all that fun, we’ll taken potential Champions League football next season and I have to find a way to make these guys way more consistent and together at the back – can I achieve it? See you next week to find out!
