Bonjola and welcome back to multi-club mayhem which, in hindsight, was probably a more apt blog title than the whole Eagles thing. Never the less, our three Eagle themed clubs are living a tolerable top flight experience – some better than others – and if this update goes to plan, they still will be in about 900 words time.

I did receive a comment that Palace were criminally under-represented in last weeks post. Sitting second in the league with fairly mediocre investment should be celebrated more, even if I just can’t get over how good Man Utd have been defensively. Anyway, let’s see how this goes.

This may be a Palace heavy episode. 11 games to go and a fair chance of being heroes. The perfect start as two of the veterans are at the double to secure a comeback win against European chasers Sheff Wed.

Man Utd are on FA Cup duty so we’re temporarily top of the pile. That might be as good as it gets…so let’s just look at it for a minute or so.

Done? Good. The Go Ahead Eagles enjoy a rare divine day with a 5-1 thrashing of Volendam, who are almost bottom of the league. Gudjohnsen is out of contract in the summer and I’m hoping I can get him on a free for one of the clubs.

7 games to go in Holland we should be safe now, barring something remarkable.

Back in Blighty, the fixture list happens to take us to Old Trafford. When Giggs opens the scoring I assume this will go the usual way it does in Manchester but Padovano equalises and Amunike ends up winning us the game. Lads. What have you done?

Emmers scores a late winner at Anfield to round off a remarkable week. Liverpool have a filthy five minutes and we end up making hard work of one of the trickier places to go.

How’s this for a script? Vialli, binned by Chelsea as player-manager, scores a late winner against his former employers. What a dream run this is.

And just like that, we have a 9 point lead. They have a game in hand but it’s completely down to us now.

Tottenham are a bit of a bogey side for us and despite us leading, Klinsmann turns the game on its head…don’t blow it now!

Nice are battered in Monaco. It’ll happen unfortunately. Some better players are required.

Palace continue their nervy march to history.

This latest failure in France pretty much ends our chances of sneaking a European spot.

More success in Holland with a mighty win. There’s definitely something here to build on for next season.

Nice Cannes you say? A filthy game ends in a big afternoon for our French contingent, but too little too late.

Tammer has an unbelievable record of a goal a game, helped by plundering four in one very successful afternoon. Only a year on his contract though and no sign of a new one being agreed.

Palace are on the verge! A big second half gives us one hand on the trophy.

So naturally, we throw in one of our typical performances against bottom of the league.

Imagine the atmosphere at Elland Road! Third placed Leeds host big rivals Man Utd and win 1-0, handing the league title to BeefCo Crystal Palace.

Wow. Beyond my wildest expectations to achieve this in season 2.

The season ends with a celebratory win.

We did it!

The season in France ends with a bit of a ding dong and a draw. We’ve had so many injuries, it makes sense to end the season with 2 more.

The final tables then, Go Ahead end in an average 13th. Survival in our first season in the top flight.

Too many goals conceded for Nice but if we can tighten that up we’ll have a chance of finishing a bit higher next season.

Prunea on a free? Perfect for Go Ahead I hope. We can only afford to pay him £600 a week, which he accepts, somehow.

We’ll leave it there after a bumper update. I’ll run down the state of the squads next week before we get into season 3. A Champions League campaign for Palace awaits and I’m expecting massive things from Nice with that transfer business, even if the defence which let us down is still rubbish. Maybe I can fix that. Go Ahead Eagles have about 19 players…work to be done there.
