Happy Monday! It’s the last day of November and so here to usher in Tiny Chocolate Day it’s Matt and the all-Welsh Cardiff team. It’s a new season!

It’s Monday, we’re heading out of lockdown, we’ll all be in tiers by midweek, but let us not dwell on the present, lets all meet up in the year 2000, won’t it be strange when we’re all fully grown?

Last season in Division One was hard work, like putting up the Christmas tree when you have a cat, but no matter, that’s gone, lets go round again, maybe we’ll turn back the hands of time. Anyway, enough of the song lyrics, lets get (it) on.

I’m determined to drag us out of Division One and now we have the regens of Neville Southall, Ian Rush and Mark Hughes to fill the void of the retired Kevin Ratcliffe and Carl Dale.

Ok, this wasn’t the start I was looking for….maybe these young regen strikers aren’t ready for it yet. Chris Sutton is just trolling us with 2 goals from centreback.

Hello, and welcome back to Wales on this fine Monday morning. Cardiff are stuttering through life in Division 1, but for now, that doesn’t matter because we’ll be leading Wales into Euro 2000. Lots to discuss and much to look forward to. Shall we?

Here’s where we are at present, not going down, not going up by the looks of things.

Good week to you! Monday Matt is here to prove the Boomtown Rats were wrong and there is actually plenty to like about this day. Although having said that, Matt’s not exactly loving Division 1 with his all Welsh Cardiff side…

There are things I like. The songs of Shakin’ Stevens for example. The sunset over the River Taf. A pint of Brains on Queen Street on a Friday evening. Wales qualifying for Euro 2000.

One thing I am not enjoying though is Division 1 in 1999.

Last time out we were struggling to find our feet and sat 15th after a third of the season had rolled past, so with some trepidation, we pick up the league action away to Oxford.

Hmmm, maybe there is love in the dark after all.

Good Morning! Matt is here to ease you into the week with the latest from Wales. How are the all Welsh side adapting to life in Division 1?

Hello and welcome back to Wales. We’re rising like the morning sun over Tiger Bay.

Two promotions in two seasons and my Welsh Warriors are now in Division 1. At the end of Part 6, some Welsh internationals hung up their boots so its been a summer of regen-hunting for me.

First in is the clone of Big Nev himself. Roden is Germanic for ‘Red Valley’ apparently. Martyn Margetson is doing fine in goal for now, so young Nathan is one for the future.

It’s a new week and Matt is here to start things with a bang, or a bomb in this case. A Wrex-bomb. Is this just another Welsh related gag or is there more to it? Let’s find out.

Suddenly we’re nearing the end of Season 2 – thanks for sticking with me so far. You know the drill by now, Welsh club, only Welsh players and we’re in charge of the national team too.

Last time out we were looking good for a second successive promotion and young starlets Stephen Pugh and Kristian Hartson were putting in some promising performances. Here’s how it all looked in part 5:

Welcome back to Wales – last time around we left Cardiff making a great start to life in division 2 in my second season, but what’s in store as we head into 1999 – lets have a look.

We’re staying in Wales and heading to The Racecourse Ground, scene of a famous Mickey Thomas free kick, but today Deniol Graham is the hero with a goal at either end of the game.

Three days later and D.G is at it again, but Brighton make us work for it, Deniol with another late strike to wrap up the 3 points.

Matt is back with his Welsh lads to get your week kick started. It’s time for season 2 but are there any Welsh nationals to sign?

For me, it’s a wet Saturday afternoon. The fire is on, the kids are playing with Lego. For you it’s Monday morning, back at work, but for all of us, it’s 1998 in Cardiff and the start of Season 2.

Last time out, we clinched promotion as champions of Division 3 with an all Welsh line up and under the guise of Bobby Gould, I kept the Welsh FA satisfied by steering the national team through some tricky friendlies. We’re now in that magical July period where we can make our plans for Season 2.

One chap I’ve been chasing, and a minus man, is David Parry who turns down East Fife of all places to join our project.

Croeso and welcome back to my all-Welsh save. We’ve rattled towards the end of Season 1 and the mighty Cardiff are sitting nicely at the top of Division 3, meanwhile my Welsh national team learn their fate in the Euro 2000 qualifiers. Could have been worse I suppose.

Croseo and welcome back to Wales. It’s an all Welsh affair in Cardiff. A Welsh team and we can only play and sign players from Wales – simple, but can it work?

Well, we’re sitting pretty in Division 3, 2 points off top place Exeter and we pick up the action in our second Windscreen Shield Group game. The only blackspot there is Griffiths injury. Bumper crowd though.

Now for something completely different – Matt Wills is back with a new save and boyo, he’s got a challenge on his hands here…

‘Helo a chroeso’ to my next blog adventure.

Choosing a CM9798 challenge isn’t easy. After so long playing the game you can easily slip into the habit of signing the same players and constructing the same team save after save after save. So you have to set some rules for yourself. Dave did this brilliantly with The Academy and The Retirement Home and that gave me an idea – Wales.

Take a Welsh team, only sign Welsh players and see how far you can get them. Those of you that follow me on Twitter will know I gave this a go a few months back, but it sort of tailed off so I started again and thought it would make an interesting blog. No fiddling about with the editor this time, well only to bring Kevin Ratcliffe out of retirement…..

I’m going for Cardiff over Wrexham and Swansea simply because I spent 6 years living, studying, working and drinking there in my adolescence and it seemed the logical choice.

Here’s what I’m starting with. 4 Welsh players, 3 of them defenders so a lot will have to be shipped out. I’ve also assumed the role of Bobby Gould to try and get the national team to a major final.
