Bonjour and a very happy Mother’s Day to you and/or your Mother. We are one week on from Raith Rovers permanently earning a place in my heart thanks to successive 0-0 draws with Celtic helping us to claim second spot. The Champions League awaits us, so all we need now are better players to keep us there…
Hello! For once, we head into the final update of the season carrying a slender advantage over one of our Old Firm rivals. Obviously not Rangers, they have built an absurd jobber beating monster squad but Celtic, despite an embarrassment of riches, are creaking. Is this finally our year? Let’s find out.
Well hello there. You join us back in Cowdenbeath where season 7 is following a similar path to the previous few seasons, as we sit snugly in behind the Old Firm. By snugly I of course mean nowhere even close to them with a lot of work to do. So let’s try and do it…
Good day to you. We’re back for another shot, another season, another desperate attempt to claw our way into Europe’s elite. That’s right, I don’t even harbour ambitions of winning the Scottish Premier Division, just simply finishing above one of Rangers or Celtic will do me. Rangers won the Champions League though, so does that open an opportunity for a back door entrance to the pot of gold that is Wednesday night football?
Hello! It’s the end of the season here in Cowdenbeath and we’re in the unfamiliar position of being able to see the Old Firm disappearing over the hill rather than our usual situation of wondering just how far down the other side of the hill they might be. It’s a long analogy but you get my point. We also have a European quarter final to look forward to. Cowdenfun for all.
Hello! Don’t adjust your screens, that is Cowdenbeath above Celtic in the table. Granted there are 28 games still to play but for now, we’re loving life in second place. What can possibly go wrong?
Greetings to you and welcome back to Cowdenbeath. It’s time for another season of Cowdenfun as we look to close a 30 point gap/chasm to the Old Firm. It’s ludicrous really, the talent and money at their disposal versus whatever it is that we have. Mick Quinn? Still, we outscored them all so if we can just defend even a smidge better, we’ll be laughing our way to a 20 point deficit. Let’s pre-season.
Good hello to you. It’s Sunday so as is occasionally the way, it’s time for some Cowdenfun. The SPL table has a familiar look about the top two and we are in contention to make it two 3rd place finishes in a row, truly the stuff of dreams. Still, we are the leagues top scorers and we’re not here to mess about. Except in the Old Firm games…
When you start a new post on WordPress it rather optimistically asks “Do you have a favourite place you have visited?” which I guess is meant to act as a way of clearing writers block. My question would be, why are you starting a WordPress post if you have no thoughts on what to write? Anyway, it took care of my intro so who am I to argue? I’ve never been to Cowdenbeath but I am sure it would be in my top 50 places I have visited. In the world of CM9798, it’s September 2001 and we’re 3rd in the Scottish Premier Division. Sounds good but we finished 3rd last season and we are nowhere near the Old Firm. The early signs are that we are playing for third again…
