There and Back Again – A Tale of Bilbo ‘Wayne’ Biggins | @KingOfTheRooks

Today, Andrew is back to bring you the first part in a tale of bigglical proportions. Can you win trophies with an ancient old man of Division Three quality playing up front? Is Wayne Biggins the messiah?

Hello there! Welcome back to the home of CM9798, and thanks to Dave for letting me write some more bizarre clap trap to keep us all entertained. So, what is the premise? Well, have you ever heard of Wayne Biggins? During the Blog Squad’s time (well spent time) playing our season of ‘Football League Trophy Manager’, Rob Tait had the joy of finding out he is an absolute underrated gem in CM9798, even at the grand old age of 35.

Ah yes, the premise! So, old Wayne had a rather barren 3 months playing for Lou Macari’s Celtic, however, would you believe it, he’s getting another chance to go on his travels.

We’ll take Wayne to each of the top divisions on offer in CM9798 where we will look to build a team of Galactico’s, in the hope Wayne can lead them to glory.

Part 1: Manchester United & The English Premier League

We needed a hole in the ground to call home. And that home was Manchester United.

Sword Quest. Part 11: The End. | @Emsonite

Welcome to the series finale. I’ll try and make it better than the end of LOST. And less weird.

If you’ve followed this blog from the beginning, you might be thinking that we must have won the lot then? What’s the point of reading? Well we did and we didn’t. Have a nosey…

Kicking off with a run of league games & a FA Cup replay with Chelsea before the League Cup Final. We’re 4 points off Man Utd, which is not great but not insurmountable.

Sword Quest. Part 9: Check 1 – 2 | @Emsonite

Into the Premier League. Not a lot of players out there. This Thistle team is getting pretty old so I’m on the regen hunt.

Here we have Gordon Durie, Ian Ferguson, Kevin Gallcher, Ally McCoist, Andy Goram & Colin Hendry.  Andreas Thom is there as well but he’s not for sale.

The kids are going out on loan to get some experience. I can’t afford to blood them in the Premier League just yet. My first team is in its prime & will be given the chance to smelt some trophies this season.

Sword Quest. Part 8: The Battle of Glasgow | @Emsonite

After a disappointing season 3, we had news of Rangers relegation. We will compete with Rangers for the Div 1 title in what has been dubbed the Battle of Glasgow. William Wallace issues a rallying call

“Listen up you bunch of basstads. Last season was fucking disgrace. But the Gods have given us a chance to defeat Rangers up close and personal. This is why we are here. The Gers abandoned all decency. All pride and the great people of Scotland. We are here to remind them of that. Fight and you may get injured. Run and you’ll stay free of suspension, at least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one season, just one season to come back here and tell Celtic and Rangers that they may take our Scottish Premier League, but they’ll never take our Windscreen!”

Everyone is pumped after that.

P14 – Binary Brilliance: Tackling CM2 97/98 with an AI Co-Pilot! | @tjmitcham1983

Welcome to the final season, the ultimate odyssey, as Uniao de Lamas finally take a crack at the top flight! The first thing we’re gunna need to do is improve the squad.

First up a certain Liberian regen! The board Weah up the option of signing him, but then try to tempt him with £500 per week. I don’t think that’s gunna cut it! The Cork industry needs a boost so we see some more £££, otherwise recruitment is gunna be impossible!

P10 – CM9798: Half & Half Premier League | @KingOfTheRooks

So here we are, the final run in of this absolute shocking idea that should never have seen the light of day. Who to blame? Dave Black of course for allowing me to blog it. We’ll cover April/May due to the distinct lack of action in May.

The FA Cup final is now decided; Suncastle will face off with Everpool.

P13 – Binary Brilliance: Tackling CM2 97/98 with an AI Co-Pilot! | @tjmitcham1983

Hello and welcome back to the Comendador stadium, as little old Uniao de Lamas find themselves top halfway through season four. Miguel and Diogo have been through some very poor second half showings in recent years, so let’s see if they can buck the trend….

First up is the cup tie at Benfica. Our boys have never seen 70,000 fans before, we barely scrape that cumulatively over a season! Despite that we put up a decent showing and only go down by a solitary goal. Integral CDM Cesar is ruled out for three months after a horror tackle, which puts a dampener on our day in the big time.
