The Blog Squad are in action again with another white hot week of Cup Winners Cup 9798 action. Here’s Ross with the breakdown.
Week 2 is here, I’m suffering with Covid so hopefully Parma can cheer me up this week, we will see.
We start this week with some cup action and as last week I’ll just bring you the human on human action…….
We start with Dean’s Man U ‘91 taking on Philip’s Arsenal ‘94 in the 1st round of the league challenge cup. 2-0 at ht quickly becomes 3 and it’s a comfortable victory for Dean. My Parma team takes on Rob’s Zaragoza boys. It finishes 2-2 at FT and then 2-2 at the end of extra time and I take a 4-3 victory on pens.
First up in league action this week is Phil’s Arsenal taking on Nicks Barca ‘97. It’s a tight game but Ian Wright pops up in the 82nd minute to steal the victory.
Matt’s Chelsea take on Deans Man U in this Mark Hughes derby, A quick fire 3 from Chelsea in the first half do the damage for Matt it very quickly becomes 4-0 to Chelsea before Man U’s Mark Hughes decides enough is enough and scores 4 to make it an unbelievable 4-4 before Flo kills it off for Chelsea, Phew!
Nath and his Lazio team take on Dave and his Bremen lads. 2 late goals from Lazio are enough to seal the win for Nath in this tight affair. Dave also suffers a big injury which doesn’t Bode well….
Zak v Rob is next or PSG v Zaragoza if you prefer, 6 second half minutes are enough in this for the absent Rob, Zak’s boys pull one back before two late goals finish it off for Rob.
Andrew’s Sampdoria do battle with my Parma squad, Sampdoria take an early lead before i somehow undeservedly take a late lead but that’s not all as a late late equalizer sees it finished in a just about deserved 2-2 draw.
The Scottish schedulers have some explaining to do as we get a random fixture a few days later as we have PSG and Sampdoria doing battle. Its 2-1 at HT becomes 6-3 to Zaks boys after an action packed 90 mins.
That’s all for the League action this week we do have another round of cup action to contend with before we go for this week though, again it’s all Human v AI apart from My Parma team v Nicks Barcelona The fire power of Nick’s Barca team is too much to overcome as i succumb to 3-1 loss and am knocked out of the Scottish coca Cola Cup.
Lets have a quick look at the league table, It’s still early days for the league but you can already see a clear division here.
That’s all from us this week, it’s been another enjoyable week with the blog squad and some very interesting results. We will be back same bat place same bat time next week.
