Where Eagles Dare – Part 13: Quadruple Problems

Good morning, good evening, good whatever time of day it is. If you’re like me and currently parenting through the 6 weeks holidays, well done. 2 down, 4 to go. Speaking of which, I’m taking some time off after today’s episode and will return in a few weeks. With that, let’s set the scene. We’ve got a few months of Season 3 left, the BeefCo project is just about still going, although Crystal Palace are doing a LOT of the heavy lifting. Can we finish season 3 with a bang and maybe progress Nice or Go Ahead Eagles beyond mediocrity? Palace are on for the quadruple, remarkably. Let’s get to it.

Where Eagles Dare – Part 12: Glad All Over

Good hello to you all. Another week, another trip to Eagle town to catch up with the BeefCo. Statistically, this save has not caught the imagination but I’m still hopeful we can make it a memorable one. I mean, Palace winning the league in Season 2 is one of my greatest CM achievements, so hopefully we can build something. We rejoin midway through season 3, with something to play for across England, Holland and France.

Where Eagles Dare – Part 11: Nice Recovery

Bonjour to you! We had a lovely time this week realising that Wednesday was the date CM9798 officially ends. Thankfully, that is just in game but in real life things are still going strong. The BeefCo trio of Palace, Nice and Go Ahead Eagles are progressing at various rates, some better than others. Go Ahead Eagles have sneakily become a decent Dutch top tier side, Nice are absolutely stinking up France and Crystal Palace are the Champions of England. You heard that right. Look, we’ve got a Champions League group and everything.

Where Eagles Dare – Part 10: Nice to See You

Hello! Back after a break with some BeefCo for your Sunday. Thanks to Andrew for his creativity in bringing us some truly unique World Cup content the last few Sunday’s. I took a small break due to life getting in the way and I didn’t want to rush through a blog or two for the sake of it, especially when interest is at an all time low from the reading public due to the actual World Cup. Anyway, Season 4 is underway and last time out, we got through the summer trading and the first month or so of the new season. Here are our three squads, none of which are complete.

Where Eagles Dare – Part 9: Making a Nest

Honestly, it’s been a week since it happened and very few people care but I just keep saying to myself – how did we win the league with THIS team?

You’ve all played the game and you know when you have a team that can win the league. I didn’t have that feeling here, I mean there’s a couple of wonderkids in there but they are very young. Emmers is a born winner but at Premier League level? Rarely. Richard Wright is class of course, and the wily Vialli scored 23 goals but is now 35. Ledezma’s 21 in 38 games at the age of 20 gives hope for the future. Bloody hell lads, how did we do it?

Anyway, onto season 3. The dream of course is to get two of these Eagle outfits to meet in the Champions League final. Palace will play in the Champions League, the other two aren’t even in Europe. There’s a long way to go.

Where Eagles Dare – Part 7: Eagle Down

Good morning! Or Good whatever time you happen to be reading this. We’re midway through Season 2 of this multi club mayhem, managing Crystal Palace (The Eagles), Nice (Les Aiglons/The Eaglets) and Go Ahead Eagles (no nickname required). Our Eagle Army are having a fight on to make themselves a mainstay of the top flight in France and Holland whilst Palace are leading the way as potential contenders for European qualification? Or maybe more…

Here’s lovely Bjorn so you don’t have to look at that AI Eagle image I created.

Where Eagles Dare – Part 6: Claw your eyes out

Bonjour all. If you are new to all of this, where have you been?! Other than enjoying yourself and living a life that doesn’t involve reading 10 minutes of retro nonsense on a Sunday morning. In short, we are managing three clubs under the entirely fictional umbrella of BEEFCO, a gag that has yet to raise a single chuckle amongst the dear readers. Nevertheless, things are going a lot better for one team than the other two. Bring on the winter months, hopefully we can have three happy clubs in ten minutes time.

Where Eagles Dare – Part 4: The Run-In

Hello! Bonjour! Dutch words meaning hello! We’re back with our trio of Eagles hoping to earn ourselves a couple of promotions. We’re into the run in now, with 2 promotions to play for if we’re lucky and whatever Palace are up to. Strap yourselves in, it’s a big episode today.

One of the surprises of the season so far is Paul McVeigh, bagging nearly a goal a game in French Ligue 2. Surely that Northern Ireland cap is just around the corner…

Where Eagles Dare – Part 3: Signs of Life

Bonjour and welcome back to this multi club mayhem. I’m managing three sides, each one more eagled related than the last, with the sole aim of having two of them meet in the Champions League final some day.

That day will not be soon but progress is very reasonable in some places. Erik Tammer is my hero so far, 25 in 21 in the Dutch second tier is a more than fitting return (even though as a league, and in fact as a country, the percentage of goalkeepers with working arms is alarmingly low)
