Bottom’s Up – Part 3: Unbelievable Jeff! | @FMCM_FC

The Premier League…is upside down…the Premier League is upside down. Here’s Nathan with the latest from the upside down divisions

Hello all and welcome back to Glasgow were the world is upside down. All the leagues have been reversed so we are in Division 3 with the aim being to get back to the Premier League and back into Europe. In the last update we got back on track at the top of the table and progressed in the UEFA Cup. So let’s see if we can cement that top spot in this update.

A truly ridiculous game. Rosenberg score 4 in the first half hour. Svela scores after 3 minutes. Brekke and Berg then swap goals and assists before Brekke breaks free and adds his 2nd and Rosenberg’s 4th. We get one back before half time thanks to Negri. In the second half Porrini makes it 4-2 before Berg grabs a 5th for Rosenberg. We look dead and buried but Gazza makes it 5-3 to put us ahead on away goals before Negri seals it with a stoppage time 4th. Amazing game for the neutrals! That sees us into the 4th round against Valencia.

Brilliant performance on the back of an away game in Europe. It’s end to end in the first half until the half hour mark when Negri hits a thunderbolt from 30 yards out which Gould could only stand and watch fly past him. In the second half we take control a bit more and a Gazza through ball causes confusion and Gould ends up putting the ball in his own net. Gazza then adds a goal of his own to make a comfortable 3-0 win in the Old Firm derby.

A good win at Tynecastle for us. Fitzy gives us the lead when Cavaco picks up the ball, drifts inside and slips Fitzy in who makes no mistakes from 10 yards out. In the second half Cavaco is at it again. This time he flicks the ball through for Van Vossen who brings it down and fires a powerful shot past Mackenzie. Malone grabs a lifeline for Hearts when he taps in a parried shot. We put the brakes on though and shut up shop to see out the win.

This match was all about Van Vossen. He was sensational. He opens the scoring after 9 minutes, curling a beauty past Leighton. He then slips in Negri who goes one on one and easily slips it under the keeper. Dean Windass then scores a delightful first time chip to half the deficit. Van Vossen then grabs his 2nd to make it 3-1 at half time. Aberdeen start the 2nd half strongly and Jess gets it back 3-2. but with 20 minutes remaining Van Vossen tees up Gazza who makes it 4-2 before Negri’s blocked shot is tapped home by Van Vossen for his hattrick.

This is a fantastic win but i feel we could have done more. 9 minutes in Ortega plays a beauty of a ball which Lopez fires past Goram. We work our way back into the game though and before half time Van Vossen capitalises on a mistake at the back and slots it past Zubizarreta. In the second half Zubizarreta gets sent off for wiping out Negri out in the box. Van Vossen then smashes the penalty over the bar. We massively take advantage and Ferguson grabs the winner on the hour mark. Another goal would have been nice but i’ll take a win.

We leave it late but we get the job done. We dominate the game throughout but we just can’t get it going upfront. That is until the 78th minute when Ferguson steams through and lashes a shot into the top corner. Negri wraps it up 4 minutes from time with a deft finish into the bottom corner.

A draw in Valencia sees us through to the next round of the UEFA Cup. We dominate the first half even before the red card but we can’t find a goal. Of course Valencia take 1 of there few chances to take the lead just before half time. We persist though and get the goal to send us through when Negri volleys a free kick off the bar and Craig Moore is there to head home the rebound. He gives a penalty away in the next minute but thankfully Ortega smashes it over the bar. Our prize is a Quarter Final against Helsingborg.

It’s not to be for Chester though who have had an amazing run in this competition.

A first half mauling here. Negri heads through for Van Vossen to tuck away the opener in just the 2nd minute. Negri then powers in our 2nd. Van Vossen cuts the ball back for Laudrup to slam home our 3rd. Negri then hits one from 25 yards which flies past Howie for 4. Gazza then cuts inside and bends one into the far corner to make it 5-0 at half time. Simo Valakari starts the move for his goal and finishes it neatly into the corner after some good passing.

A solid defensive performance sees us pick up 3 points here. Alan Main is brilliant in the 1st half and stops everything we throw at him. In the second half Gazza steams through and plays a lovely pass into Negri who makes no mistake from 8 yards out.

Another comfortable win at Ibrox. Fitzy gets us off to a flier in the first minute with a thunderous close range volley. Amoruso then rises highest at a corner and flicks his header just inside the far post. In the second half Laudrup plays a wonderful 50 yard pass which Cavaco gathers and fires underneath Gunn.

A fantastic performance from Dunfermline goalie Lemaijc. We batter Dunfermline but we can’t find a way past him. The subs make the difference. Ferguson nods the ball through for Negri to slide home our opener. 2 minutes later McCoist gets on the end of a cross to seal the win.

That’s it for this update. Let’s check out what’s happening around the leagues.

We’ve opened up a 10 point lead at the top and made it to the UEFA Cup Quarter Finals. Celtic looking good to come up with us.

Alloa looking for a Premier League title. Albion Rovers and Ross County leading the chase.

Man Utd starting to take control of Division 3 with Liverpool pulling away as well.

Jeff Stelling must having the time of his life with Hartlepool top of the Premier League. Tom Youngs and Bjorn Heidenstrom giving chase.

So tight in Serie B with 6 teams all in with a chance of going up.

It’s close in Serie A as well. Again the top 6 all in with a good chance of the title.

Barnet don’t disgrace themselves in their European Adventure.

Albion Rovers always had a very tough task in this group in all fairness to them.

So that’s it for now. We are well on track for promotion and an unlikely UEFA Cup run as well. Join me next to time to see if we can get closer to that final and enter the FA Cup.
