Bottom’s Up – Part 4: Cup Low League High | @FMCM_FC

Nathan the Gent is here with his upside down leagues. Rangers are looking good for a promotion but what about their European ambitions?

Hello everyone and welcome back to this crazy upside world where i’ve taken over Glasgow Rangers who are in Division 3. We’ve opened up a 10 point lead at the top of the table and find ourselves in the UEFA Cup Quarter Finals against Helsingborgs. So without further ado let’s dive into this update.

A real bad start to this update as we crash out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle. Hibs take the lead completely against the run of play when Dow finds some room and fires a low shot past Wright. We equalise instantly only for it to be ruled for apparent offside. We score again in the 90th minute but again it’s ruled out as the ref spotted something. The ref receives a barrage of abuse at full time but it’s futile and we are out.

A crazy Old Firm Derby here which we are on the wrong end of. Johnson gives Celtic the lead before Gazza levels the scores up. Phil O’Donnell and Larsson then score 5 minutes apart to give Celtic a 3-1 half time lead. McCoist makes it 3-2 but McNamara and Johnson make it 5-2. i push everyone forward and Cavaco scores then assists McCoist for his 2nd to make it 5-4 but once again, as it looks like we are getting back into it Larsson slams the door in our faces and it finishes 6-4.

Not sure what is going on here. We’ve been brushing teams aside but for some reason we cannot win now. Siggi Jonsson scores after 20 minutes after a wonderful through ball from Bowman. We had poor performances all over the pitch and the injuries didn’t help either.

Much better from us here. We are crisp and clinical in our passing and finishing. Negri opens the scoring with a powerful effort from close range. McCoist then grabs our 2nd with a well placed shot into the bottom corner. In the second half Cavaco cuts open Hearts defence and McCoist slips his shot through the legs of Trinder. Laudrup put the cherry on top with a 25 yard driven shot low which nearly breaks the net.

A fantastic away win at Pittodrie here as Aberdeen are swept away. Ally McCoist opens the scoring thanks to a through ball from Gazza. Gazza plays McCoist in again but Leighton saves his shot only for Gazza to hit home the rebound. From Kickoff Aberdeen go up the other end and Young fires home from a blocked shot. McCoist grabs his second just before half time. Laudrup then fires home a low cross from Cavaco. McCoist then heads home from a corner to complete his hattrick and wrap up a 5-1 win.

Van Vossen makes his return and he was unplayable. He sets up Negri who fires in our first goal before getting to the byline and chipping a ball perfectly for Laudrup to guide home with his head. In the second half Negri plays a one-two with Van Vossen before sweeping the ball into the bottom corner. Jim McIntyre scores straight from kickoff to make it 3-1 but Van Vossen has the last laugh by adding a well deserved goal to his assists.

Well we win 6-0. We score all 6 scores in the first half. Van Vossen sets up the first two for Negri and Laudrup. Negri then sets up Van Vossen and Gazza to make it 4-0. He then flicks on a cross which Van Vossen nods in at the back post. Van Vossen then sees his shot crash off the bar but Laudrup is there to convert the rebound for his 2nd and our 6th. Crazy 45 minutes.

Another resounding win on the back of another great first half performance. Van Vossen plays through Negri who races free one on one and fakes a shot to floor Howie then he rolls the ball into the empty net. Van Vossen then breaks free and his shot is blocked but the rebound falls to Laudrup who powers it into the net. Laudrup then plays a stunning 40 yard through ball between the two centre halves and Van Vossen just has to guide the ball past Howie which he does. Negri adds our 4th after a big scramble in the box. Valakari grabs a consolation goal for Motherwell in the second half. He scored against us last time as well so may be one to watch in the future.

Well we started with a game against Hibs and we will finish with a game against them. This time though we get the win. Negri opens the scoring with a fantastic chip shot from just inside the area. Completely against the run of play Harper breaks free and buries his shot into the far corner. We huff and puff and finally Van Vossen unpicks the defence and Laudrup fires home the winner.

That win seals promotion for us. I’m delighted to get this done so early. It means we can now focus on the UEFA Cup.

We have a 21 point lead over Celtic. The title will come soon so all steam ahead in the UEFA Cup.

In the Scottish Prem it’s looking like a 2 horse race. Albion Rovers with a game in hand which could be vital.

Man Utd look nailed on for the Division 3 title. Liverpool looking good to join them in going up. It’s tight for the 3rd automatic spot and all to play for in the playoff places.

Hartlepool are edging closer to the Premier League title. Barnet have a cushion as well in 2nd.

Juventus storming away with Serie B. Everyone down to 6th have a chance of promotion.

Still all to play for in Serie A. Not sure if it’s just me but those point totals look very low.

So that’s it for this update. Join me next time as we look to complete the first season of this crazy world. Until then… Bottom’s Up!
