It’s Tuesday and recent birthday boy Nathan is back with more from the upside down leagues. Rangers are easing to Division 2 glory but who will win the mixed up other leagues?
Hello all and welcome back to the upside down version of CM9798. In the last update we won the League Challenge Cup but got soundly beaten by Aberdeen in the League Cup final. In this update we will look to tighten our grip on Division 2 and enter the FA Cup.

A solid start here as Hamilton are the masters of their own downfall. A Van Vossen through ball splits their defence wide open for Negri to stroll through and curl in the opener. In the second half 3 mistakes at the back lead to 3 goals. 1 for Cavaco and 2 more for Negri to complete his hattrick.

Tough away game but we get the job done eventually. Patrick Connolly gives Airdrie the lead with a well taken half volley into the top corner. In the second half we start to turn the screw. Cavaco flicks a ball over the top for Negri to fire home the equaliser. Van Vossen then turns his defender and hits a low shot which creeps into the corner off the post.

FA Cup 3rd round action against our old nemesis Dundee Utd. It’s a cup classic as it’s open and very end to end. Olafsson gets the opener after a mistake at the back from Sorensen. Cavaco then sends Van Vossen through who slots home the equaliser. He then assists for Laudrup who gives us the lead. Just before half time Dykstra is unlucky to palm a powerful shot into his own net. Olafsson grabs a second in the 2nd half which makes a nervy second half until right at the death Negri fires home a 4th to seal the win.

Another solid away win. Cavaco is brilliant. Gazza opens the scoring with a thunderbastard from 30 yards. Cavaco then then assists Van Vossen and Negri to make it 3-0. Late on Negri breaks free and hits low shot which glides into the bottom corner.

A hugely entertaining game at Ibrox which we come out on top in. 2 goals in 2 minutes from Cavaco and Porrini gives us a 2-0 lead. Charlie Miller then adds a 3rd before Cairns gets one back. Cavaco adds a 4th then Mick Doherty rifles in Dundee’s 2nd to make it 4-2. Sorenson heads home a flicked on corner before Michael O’Neill completes the scoring with a late 3rd for Dundee to make it 5-3 at full time.

Division 1 for us next season. Now to wrap up the title.

A big away in the Scottish FA Cup 4th round sees us through. Cavaco again is unplayable setting up Van Vossen and Negri for a 2-0 lead at half time. Van Vossen then has hit shot parried straight to Gazza who taps into an empty net. Derek Grant gets a goal back before Negri heads home a deflected shot to make it 4-1 at full time.

Marco Negri is an absolute animal in this game! It’s Bjorklund who opens the scoring from a corner which he heads home nicely. It’s then the Negri show as he scores two in the 1st half and 3 in the 2nd. The pick of the bunch a lovely curling effort into the top corner from just outside the area.

Another away game with 4 goals. We get 3 in the opening 15 minutes thanks to Negri, Amoruso and Cavaco. Agnew grabs one back in the second half and Van Vossen adds our 4th by striking home Negri’s blocked effort.

The first XI are rested here as we have Aberdeen in the cup QF coming up. McCoist opens the scoring thanks to a through ball from Fitzy. Tom Brown levels the scores from the spot after a mistake from Slavin. Charlie Miller seals the win though with a great effort from 20 yards.

A typically close game with Aberdeen but we sneak through to the cup Semi Final. Gazza give us the lead in the 3rd minute when Negri races through and sees his shot saved but Gazza is their to tap home the rebound. Aberdeen have a man sent off and we miss a host of chances before McMahon converts Young’s pass. Gazza though steps up again this time sliding in Cavaco’s low cross.

A tough game in the Old Firm derby and a point is a fair result. Chris Sutton opens the scoring with a lovely turn and shot which whizzes into the net. We have a goal disallowed in the next minute but 10 minutes after that Gazza sends Fitzy through and he megs Kerr as he comes rushing off his line.

That’s the title done and dusted with a game to spare.

The second string win the last league game of the season. Barry Ferguson makes a late run at the back post to nod in a deep cross. A slip at the back allows McCoist a free run at goal and he doesn’t miss from those situations. McClaren gives away a silly penalty which Ravenscroft converts. On to Division 1.

A really tight and tense Semi Final and we nick it in the 79th minute when a ball round the corner finds the run of Negri who brings it down and fires it home with 2 touches. We are off to Hampden. Inevitably it’s our Old Firm rivals Celtic waiting for us.

It’s a procession as we win the FA Cup Final against Old Firm rivals Celtic. The first half is quite close and cagey. The second half we push up through the gears. Sorenson glances home a powerful corner. 2 minutes later Laudrup races through and powers his shot past Gould. Van Vossen adds the cherry on top with a late 3rd.
It’s a fantastic end to the season for us as we win the League and Cup double as well as the League Challenge Cup. Let’s look at how the rest of the upside down world finished.

Clydebank win a famous Premier League title by 1 point from Berwick.

Over in England, Liverpool and Man Utd move on to Division 1. Would not like to pick a winner in the Playoffs. Newcastle won the FA Cup.

Preston North End send their fans wild with a Premier League Title. Hartlepool finishing 3rd after their title win.

In Serie B it’s Sampdoria who miss out on promotion.

It’s a breeze for Juventus who also win the Champions League in an all Italian affair beating Inter 2-1.
So that’s it. Join me next as we begin life in Division 1. Until then Bottom’s Up!
