New season klaxon! The Upside Down leagues are starting to correct themselves and Nathan leads Rangers into the SPL…
Hello All, Welcome back to the upside down world of CM9798. We’ve taken Rangers from Division 3 in Scotland back to the promise land of the Scottish Premier League. In our last update we went the full season unbeaten domestically winning the league, FA Cup, League Cup and League Challenge Cup. We got knocked of the Cup Winners Cup by the mighty Real Madrid but we did snatch a win at the Bernabeu. So let’s make a start at the Premier League and route back into Europe’s top competition.

We open with a comfortable 3-0 away win at East Stirling. New Signing Redondo makes his debut. His blocked effort causes panic in the box (As opposed to Panic at the disco) and Gazza eventually prods home the opener. Bakayoko then grabs 2 in 3 minutes before half time to take the fight out of East Stirling.

We start our League Cup defence with an emphatic win away at Ross County. Vinni benefits when the keeper fumbles the ball. Baz Ferguson then slides in Van Vossen who fires low into the corner of the net. Van Vossen then returns the favour and sends Baz through to score our third. Gazza whips a cross in late on which Fitzy somehow bundles over the line for the 4-0 win.

Clydebank have won the Scottish Premier League twice so this is a good win for us. Both goals come from rebounds off the post. Firstly Bakayoko hits the post and Robbiati taps in the rebound. Negri than crashes his shot off the bar and Cavaco volleys in the rebound from close range.

Would you believe me if i said this was close until half time? Stranraer take the lead twice but an own goal, Baz header and Van Vossen goal send us in 3-2 up at halftime. In the 2nd half Van Vossen runs riot. he grabs 4 goals to add to his goal in the first half to pulverise Stranraer.

We finally get a home game and it’s a 2-0 win. Both goals assisted by Bakayoko and scored by Negri.

Classy win here. Vinni gets to the byline and fizzes a low cross into the box which Bakayoko passes into the net. Negri then has a stinging shot parried but Robbiati is there to tap in the rebound. Negri then sends Bakayoko through and he dinks his shot over McKeown. Negri then breaks free himself to add a 4th. A late Donald goal for Ayr gives the away fans something to cheer.

A brilliant hattrick from Bakayoko sees off Queen’s Park. 2 powerful strikes in the first half followed by a quick goal in the second half. He then adds an assist when playing Negri through who slides his shot into the bottom corner. Another late consolation goal conceded here.

It’s another hattrick for Bakayoko as we take a big lead into the 2nd leg in Zagreb.

Another 4-1 win. 2 in 2 minutes set the tone with those goals coming from Negri and Laudrup. Negri bags a rebound for his second. Amoruso then thunders a header straight down the middle of the goal. Again though we concede in the last 10 minutes.

Celtic finally beat us. Deane kicks off and scores from 40 yards to open the game with a bang, literally. He goes in again to make it 2-0 before Sutton grabs a 3rd before halftime. We mount a comeback when Gazza waltzs through and scores before setting up Van Vossen. unfortunately we can’t grab a third and crash out of the League Cup.

We brush off that defeat and put Livingston to the sword. Robbiati was brilliant today. He opens the scoring by heading in Bakayoko’s freekick which crashed off the bar. He then slips in Negri who curls it past Sorvel. Robbiati then goes in again this time Negri provides the assist. Another late goal conceded but another win chalked up.

Not a great performance from the 2nd team here in Zagreb. Mrmic grabs a deserved winner 14 mins from time to seal the win for Zagreb. We advance thanks to our 4-0 win at Ibrox.

A crushing win over Cowdenbeath here. 2 goals a piece for Negri and Bakayoko. Bakayoko scoring a worldie from 25 yards. A goal a piece as well for both centre halves with Amoruso scoring from a freekick and Sorenson heading home a corner.
That’s it for this update. Let’s see how the table looks and how the rest of world is looking early doors.

Perfect start in the league for us. We will also face CSKA Moscow in the next round of the Cup Winners Cup.

Celtic not having it all their own way in Division 1

Man Utd dominating back in the Prem. Newcastle trying to hang on to them. At the bottom Hartlepool are in the relegation zone not long after winning the Premier League.

In Division 1, Arsenal are looking strong early and there is a Merseyside tussle in the playoffs.

Early days in Italy but Bari looking strong so far. Sampdoria will be desperate to get back in Serie A.

In Serie A it’s anyone’s at the moment.

In the Champions League Boro and City have made solid starts.
In the UEFA Cup Birmingham will take on Kaiserslautern and in the Cup Winners Cup Newcastle are flying the flag for England.
That’s the round. Join me next time to see we can remain unbeaten in the league again and progress further in the Cup Winners Cup. Until then it’s Bottom’s Up!!
