The Scholars – Part 3 – Expelled | @KingOfTheRooks

Merry Monday. Andrew is trying to keep some children in the football league and it’s not going well. Can it take an upturn or will it be detention all round?

Welcome back. You may not have to suffer for much longer through our brutal experiment. You can catch up on last week here.

First up it’s a team we love to play. Well, not today it would seem.

At 1-1- we have a goal disallowed and all of a sudden, our heads go. Late in the game we just have nothing and its beyond us. I’d call that game over; getting beaten by 23rd place. The pain comes again in the form of Leyton Orient.

At 0-0 we have not one, but two goals disallowed as the referee ‘spots something’. When you don’t have any luck in this game, you don’t have any luck. Then, it’s the FA Cup and we’re playing Blackpool. We go toe-to-toe and, as per previous we have a goal disallowed that would have made it 2-2. Coyne sees red and the rest is history.

From here, we don’t even get to make amends. Bottom with 9 points, 6 behind Doncaster. The board give up.

And there we have it. It seems its pretty much impossible to do anything with a team of 16-17yr olds. Even with a decent ‘keeper. Perhaps we should try this in the more comfortable settings of the Scottish 3rd Division?…
