Hello and welcome back to Tuesday club in Rome. Last season Totti came back to form and won the Writers Player of the Year award. Unfortunately we were terrible in the league but we did win our 3rd UEFA Cup in 5 seasons. Totti also went to the Euros where he was knocked out in the Group Stages. So let’s crack on with another season.

August & September

Woeful showing in the Coppa Italia losing to 9 man Vicenza in the 2nd round. We are cursed in that cup. We’ve started well in the league with 3 wins out of 4 and progressed in the UEFA Cup as well.

This thumping win away at Cagliari the highlight. New boy Thierry Henry proving to be better than Fowler already.

October

Bit of a mixed bag in October. We start well but take a hiding off Torino and Inter. Our UEFA Cup hopes are in real danger after losing 3-1 in France.

Two goals in a minute from Totti see off top of the table Parma. This result leaves us 2 points behind them in 2nd place.

November

An absolutely shocking result against Piacenza starts the month. 2 good wins though see us back into 2nd spot still chasing Parma.

Another big European night at the Stadio Olimpico sees us through to the 4th Round of the UEFA Cup on away goals.

December

Unbeaten in December sends to the top of the league. Could it be our year? i doubt it but so far so good. Juventus are 16th!! We are also in to the UEFA Cup Quarter Finals.

Bread and butter stuff this. 2 goals in each half from Totti see off Sampdoria.

January

We go unbeaten again in January. Very low scoring games in all 4 matches.

February

We finally lose against our bogey team Cremonese. I hate playing them. We slip to 2nd with Inter taking over at the top of the table.

This win over Spal the pick of the bunch. An own goal sets us up for the win. Schroder with a rare goal and Roll with a rebound to make it 3-0. Spal grab a late consolation.

March

3 wins out of 3 in the league is exactly what we need. We get through to the UEFA Cup Semi Final but the 2nd leg was carnage! The win over Inter was huge and takes us back into 1st place.

Both Goalkeepers sent off in the space of 5 minutes!! We hang on for the win but this will seriously hinder us in the Semi Finals.

April

So the UEFA Cup run comes to an end. Having both keepers suspended cost us big time in the Semi Final. We go unbeaten in the league. We have a 7 point lead with 3 games to go. I really don’t want to go to Juventus and Milan for results. Milan are in 2nd place.

May

YES!!!!! Champions at last!!!! We don’t need those last 2 games as we beat Vicenza 2-0. Seeing Totti lift the Serie A title is a sight to behold!!

We beat Milan on the last day and the Stadio Olimpico is bouncing!! What a finish to the season. Join me next time as we have a crack at the Champions League and try and get past the 2nd round of the Coppa Italia. I will leave you with Totti’s stats for the season.
