The Last Roman – Part 33: Rome Is Crumbling | @FMCM_FC

Hello and welcome back to Rome. Last season was easily our worst one yet. We just about survived in the league with Roma and Italy got knocked out in the group stages of the Euros (Again!!). We need to bounce back this season with time running out for Totti to add to his collection of trophies and personal accolades. Let’s dive in.

August/September

I don’t care how old he is, you sign him!

Another crap start to the season. We progress in the Coppa Italia beating last seasons Cup Winners Cup winners Perugia. We lose at home to newly promoted Como 3-0 and it’s a truly disgraceful performance!

This was a solid win against AC Milan. Totti getting his first of the season and Luis Enrique Jr grabbing a goal. He’s becoming our best player at the moment.

October

Unbeaten in October is a nice change of pace. We conceded a 91st minute equaliser against Vicenza. Through to the QF of the Coppa Italia as well which is the best we’ve done for a while.

Totti with a 87th minute winner in this one. Still the main man!

November

A poor month with only the 1 win against Monza.

December

An abysmal December sees us out of the Coppa Italia and down to 13th in the league.

January

It’s another relegation scrap. I’ve tried 3 or 4 formations and absolutely nothing is working at the moment.

February/March

2 wins in 2 months is unacceptable. Losing to Reggiana was a real low point.

Juventus aren’t the force of old but are still head and shoulders above us. Totti of course the man with the winning goal. He’s been poor this season by his standards but still pops up with key goals.

April/May

We survive just about.

We were 4-1 up against Torino so drawing 4-4 is just pathetic. Luckily we go unbeaten in May which keeps us up. It’s been another terrible year for us. Next season might see another clear out. Hopefully you can join me next week for another season with Francesco.
