Hello and welcome back to our 30 for 30 challenge. Last season we managed a respectable 4th place finish in Division 1 with Motherwell after winning Div 3 and 2 back to back. Let’s have another crack at promotion back to the Premier League.

August

First bit of news is this new signing. We welcome Ryan Giggs Jr to the ranks.

Crap start in the league, drawing 2 and losing 1. We have however made it through to the Coca Cola Cup quarter finals.

This was a massive shock! We were very lucky with Celtic having 2 goals chalked off for offside and Buffon was incredible as was Hatton. To put this in to context Celtic won the treble of League, Cup & Champions League last season!

September

We are inconsistent at the moment. We beat Airdrie 4-0 then lose 8-1!! It was a disgusting performance. We are through to the Coca Cola Cup Semi Final.

Crazy start to this one with Marshall getting 2 yellows in 9 minutes to get sent off but in the very next minute Dick Holden (Amazing Name!!!!) gets sent off and Rennie scores from the resulting penalty on his way to a hattrick.

October

A slow start to October with a 2-2 draw and then a 2-0 loss. Then we explode in to life beating St Mirren 6-2 and Livingston 4-0. Our dream run in the Coca Cola Cup is over though. Rangers beat us 4-0 to put us firmly back in our box.

I do enjoy it when we have multiple scorers like this. Everyone was on top form.

November

We are really struggling. Only 1 win in November sees us stuck in 8th place.

Our only win was against Berwick. New signing Ferguson with two goals to open his tally for the club.

December

It’s seems that when we win we win big! 4-0 and 6-1 wins this month. We were 3-1 up against Livingston but a red card swung the game their way.

The front 2 have a field day away at St Mirren.

January

3 wins out of 4 in the league and we get a cup replay with Dumbarton. 9 scored and none conceded is fantastic form but we lose to former club Morton.

Some revenge here after Inverness beat us 8-1 earlier in the season. Rennie with another 4 goal haul in this one.

February

Just one win in February which is pretty bad. We need to convert these draws into wins. Looking like another season in Division 1 awaits.

Our only win came in the last game of the month away at 2nd placed Livingston. Rennie with the opener and Rush (Giggs jr) with the winner. Captain Elliot is out for 6 weeks which will probably be the rest of the season.

March

March starts with a beating off Dumbarton. Hatton then comes into the team and we win 4 on the bounce. He’s staying in. We lose Ferguson to the dreaded higher rep club sale clause. We get £1.5 million at tribunal. We have 2 games left. We are 2nd on goal difference. We have to play champions Morton and Alloa for a shot at the Promotion/Relegation play off.

April

We lose against Morton and then give 2 penalties and a red card away to Alloa when drawing with them. Here is the final league table.

Morton are deserved champions, they were the only team to really run away with it. It terms of our season we are easily top scorers but conceded far too many. Too many draws for my liking as well.
