The Blog Squad FC – Part 7 | @RossBell1984

Happy hump day! Leading you into the back end of the week is The big Rossman and the Blog Squad.

Welcome back to the only place to be on a Wednesday. We are halfway through our second season and are on a good run. Let’s see if we can keep it up this week.

Wycombe are no match for the form team in the country as Dave continues to bang in the goals, the vultures are circling.

Boxing day brings our second bartering of Wrexham this season, a hat trick from Illie is a very welcome sight.

Premier League Brentford are dispatched with slightly less ease than others but a wins a win and this stage we need as many of them as possible.

Two red cards and Two penalties in the first 30 mins of a game. A late Illie winner to wrap up another 3 points. York are still 9 points clear at the top but we are now in second place and hoping they drop points soon.

Well that’ll help close the gap! Even a 3rd min missed penalty from the usually reliable Dave can’t stop this train.

The game gives with one hand and then takes away with the other, we batter W.B.A for 90 mins but can’t make the breakthrough, thankfully i wasn’t Cm’d

Eric has been the quietest of the strikers this season but tbh he’s found it hard to get a look in. he takes his chance here though with a sterling hat trick.

Chesterfield beat us thanks to the ever impressive 2 shots, 2 goals tactic.

Bloody Preston! 3 nil down, Red Card to your captain. fantastic afternoon. The only saving grace is York also havent won since we beat them so the gap is closing

2-2 with 3 mins to go is never a nice position but cometh the hour cometh the CM Legend . Bjorn bangs home a 90th min winner and the gap is down to 2 points.

Not much to report here, fairly standard. Zak has had a fantastic second season and continues to impress however

We struggle to a 0-0 with Doncaster in what is essentially a local derby as we took over Mansfield to create this team.

A bid comes in from Blackburn before the game for our Talisman Dave Black. Of course I reject but apparently they’re a big club….. who knew? I approach Newcastle legend Rob Lee in a last ditch attempt to keep him. I feel its all in vain however. His two goals here prove to be his final (For now) goals for us in a vital 4-2 win against Burnley.

Dave leaves for the bright lights of Blackburn and we move quick to spend the money he bought into the club by signing Martin Keown and Dave’ replacement Peter Ndlovu. It works as they both make debuts in a 2-0 win over Millwall

It’s nice when a plan comes together, Lee and Ndlovu both on the score sheet as we bury Bury ……. Sorry

We are top of the table after that victory and despite the huge loss of Dave and his goals i hope we have just enough to get over the line.

Tune in next week to see if we can wrap this bad boy up.
